        • I guess I feel like this..If it will used to save jobs for people yes I am for it..As in the case of the Automotive companies in Michigan...I think the CEO's and all the Big Shots, should take big pay cuts..And start living at a realistic level..But in some cases I feel it's like putting a band-aid on cancer..It might cover it up..But the problem is still there..

        • Until they change the way they are structured it is not going to change a thing.

The Board of these companies should all be fired. They are put in this position to protect the company from what just happened. It is all pure greed. The Board’s that are at these big companies get so many perks they are afraid to say something or they could loose their perks and status.

Everybody wants a handout... It is crazy. It is really simple for me. One of my jobs use to be to help mangers with their budget and cutting cost.

Let’s see... Corporate plane...Out of here. Bonuses... Sorry... You have not produced...You get nothing!!!!
Yes, we are cutting salaries and it is starting at the top. You lead my example. Inspecting what you are Expecting. No big parties, no hunting trips, no limos. Drive your own car like the average joe blow does.

These jerks are to busy partying like AIG in Calfornia at the St. Regis to the tune of 430k Plus and then a hunting trip for 70k plus. We should all be demanding that for your company to get a bail out you need to put competent business men on the board and running the place. When that happens come back and talk to us.

Who goes to a meeting and ask for a bailout and for transportation used a private jet??? Reality check is needed.

When it does not work get back to basis.... Live within your means.. OMG new concept!!!

        • Bailout...  The sound of that word is so....  ugh.

The entire situation is mind boggling. Someone had better do something. I know my household’s been effected by all of this. If I put into words what my opinion is, I will surely be escorted to the door.

          GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

          Have a good day.

          J.

        • AMEN REV. TEEKY!!!!
I’ll send my address too. BAIL ME OUT!!!!!! I sure as hell didn’t bargain for THIS when training my ass off & going to school to be such a valued corporate team member.
(Sorry~ I have a resentment going on towards the FIAT group right now. GRRRRR I’ll get over it.)
We helped them when they needed US to work so hard. I’d be MORE than happy to accept THAT in return any time.
The thought of the rich getting richer & us suffering like this is disgusting.
Tell them to sell some of their houses & bail themselves out! And donate their big fat bonuses!

        • I heard a sermon on Youtube by Rev Jamal Bryant about the bailout and it was true. If they took that 700 B and divided up among the 300 M we have in this country we could bail our ownselves out!

Those who were behind in their mortgage could pay it, those who do not have a house could buy one. Then the banks get their money and the housing crisis is solved.

Most would buy a new car - hence solve the Big 3 problems. We would have money for our kids college tuition.

The sermon was funny but if you really think about it, it could work!

        • Bonehead is being nice I can think of alot worse I would like to say. Don’t mess with a Momma and her children.

I get so mad about this mess. It is all because of Greed. Pure and Simple. Everywhere I turn around people are being laid off. I have so many builders that we use to work for go out of business. It is so sad.

Empower I am so sorry. Will he get to come home Christmas?

        • I agree, Annie. I’d rather see the people at the top get the boot and the money go to bringing in crisis experts to go over the books and get the company solvent without having to sacrifice the employees. Just removing the salary of the top branch of management would reduce the total amount of money wasted significantly

        • Oh come on Ladies, don’t you feel the dire need to keep the rich rich and make the poor even poorer? These past 8 years have done exactly that and then some (started a war, took away our rights, economic crisis). I agree with helping 3 million people not loose their jobs, but all the top execs and board members have got to go. “Obama can you hear me?”

Let’s face it, nothing is going to change until we make it change. Gee I wonder what would happen if every middle class worker simply didn’t show up for work Monday morning. Hmmmmm, I bet you that would prompt some change :))

        • We will all end up paying for the bailout-every government service will probably take a hit to help fund it.  Our taxes will have to up-schools will take cuts.  I think the bailout money was given out to quickly.  What are the rules?  How is the government being paid back?  Where is the accountability for how the money is spent?
We own 2 businesses that rely on the auto industry to survive.  But I would like to see the “big 3” have to file chapter 11 and  reorganize!  If the government gives them the money they will continue to give millions of dollars away to their CEO’s and union leaders.  The greed has to stop!

        • No one bails out the consumers...why bailout the corporations.

I have been a business owner (and still am), a government consultant, and a corporate manager and I understand the big picture as well as the way to handle it and make it work successfully.  COMMUNICATION!!  The little people are always being asked to bend over backwards as they are getting screwed and it is time to stop it all.

I apologize for my crude language...I am normally tactful but as I got closer to 40...my tolerance is gone and I just need to speak my mind.

The corporations need to figure it out just the individual Americans, without the individuals paying for it.  What do the corporations do for the individuals?
