I believe in God and I have faith that there is a place after here but due to us having free will that was given to us by God we choose our path and when you have the right to choose you now have the power of your own life. Choices are contol its when you have no choices you have no contol and with free will why would you give up the right to control what path you take. God follows us for we choose the path, our belefs, our values ect .
If we choose to go right God follows if we choose tobc up God will bc uptoo. God is always with us in some form depending on our choices.
And Ill stop there... Hope this made some sence. Its part of it

Annie, I’d say the reason some won’t voice their beliefs is they don’t want to discuss their reasons for their faith, maybe? This questioning goes against a lot of religious beliefs.

        • For me, I believe a ‘higher power’ got us all here. But that’s it. We have free will and what happens happens. And not through Adam and Eve... that would have been incestuous if true.

There is no one ‘helping’ us. If there was then why was I allowed to get sick, why are innocent children abused, murder, etc.

There is NO good reason behind it.

I read the Bible, and frankly there is much too much hate in it. A man almost kills his own son to show his faith because this God asked him to?? Why would anyone put someone through that to show faith.

I consider myself spiritual, never religious. To me religion brings hate, so many wars fought over religion. How is that love?

Now, these are only my thoughts on the matter. Bottom line, we will never know who is right until our final day...

          Great response Kristi!

I cannot imagine my life without Jesus Christ in it. And because He is...my life is filled with joy! Am I going to have problems, trials & tribulations?  You bet I am...but when I choose to look to Him to get me through those things....it makes handling those things so much easier.  When you truly let go of your problems and let God have them...life is so much easier to live.

And if I get a disease or get sick, I know God will be with me every step of the way.  Am I going to be angry with him?  Heck no!! This is a earthly world and earthly things are going to happen to us but God uses every situation whether it’s good or bad to glorify Him.  It’s how you handle that disease or sickness that matters.  It’s called having FAITH.  God put us on this earth and he decides when you‘re leaving. I take great comfort in knowing that when I do die, I’m going to live eternally in heaven with my Lord.  He put us all on this earth and he is in the one in CONTROL...not you..not me.  He is.  He did give us free will and it’s up to you to decide if you are going to be FOR HIM OR AGAINST HIM. The goal of the Christian while on this earth is to spread His gospel and tell everyone about Jesus Christ.

        • I first want to state how amazing u all our that such a topic can be discussed with openness, understand, maybe not agreement but respect to the author of the question but to all of us that choose to voice our choices and views thank you.Im not as much questioning my faith IN God as I am people giving up thier control in the name of God. To much hatred and evil is done in the name of God. I believe with our free will God follows our path that we choose. It hasnt been cemented yet until we make our choice and then God goes with us.
What Im not sure about... I hope I get this part right and if I dont please ask me to try again because I dont want this part misunderstood...Im nervous lol
I think God is all the good ,the innocent, the pure, the happyness but I also think hes the bad, the ugly the pain and the wrong. God is all and he follows us maybe as a test maybe not but its our choice of which path we choose and good or bad he is there for he is both. It in my mind has to be that way for if you are on the wrong path and correct it hes there to go with you and since you never know when or what path you will take until its time to choose he has to be both to be with you all the way. Good and bad.
I to am confused why people suffer and I have two opinions if I may...(like if you say no ill know) part of the suffering is because people choose to make others suffer alot in the name of religion/ God thats free will so God basically goes along for the ride because he cant change it due to he gave us the ability to choose. But what about the good people, caring people, that are struck by life changing illness and thier love ones lifes it hurts. The pain in watching your family suffer and the damn guilt and anger you feel at yourself for being the cause of thier pain. That wasnt a choice anyone would make so what is the justification of allowing that? Thats where it gets muddled.
I also believe true evil exisits and that the people that do the most vial things its because they have no soul and without a soul there is no God in them or on thier path even when its proclaimed in the name of God...example for understanding what type I mean. Hitler for one.
Why some are saved and others are not is another muddled one.
As humans we are made to question and in his likeness. His own son questioned but you can still question but not question your faith.
I truely hope expressed this in the way I ment to.
          Cris

Its alot harder to do when your living it. At least for me at this point. But your joy in your convictions you can feel and that is maybe something I envy alittle but again I could just be oversensitive but strong convictions sometimes can be misunderstood as judging.
Again, I mean no disrespect. Its just a conversation.
And if I came off rude or negative it wasnt my intension.

        • Cris...I certainly did not take it that way.  I’ve had a lot of people around me (immediate family, close friends) who have had some of these horrible diseases...some have survived so far and some have not. Without a shadow of a doubt do I know if I were to get sick or get a horrible disease that I would still look to Him for guidance, for support, and at the end of the day...I will still THANK HIM for all my blessings. You see the ultimate goal while on this earth is to spread His gospel, tell everyone about Jesus Christ, live your life as Christ-like as you are humanly possible, love one another...all of that through sickness and in health.  If I fight the disease/sickness battle and I lose it...I will have won when I entered into heaven.

This place now...on earth...is just temporary. Think about how fast this year has gone...it’s freaken October already.  It’s flying!! Well the average person lives approximately 75 years old.  If you think about how fast each year goes...we‘re not here for very long.  Some stay longer than others...and some do not stay long at all.

We do not always know why certain things happen to some people and not to some.  There is a book out there called
Why Bad Things Happen to Good People ....can't remember the author...but it's a good read.

I certainly do hope that I never get sick or have any horrible diseases.  But if I do.... I will fight it and I will have a huge support system and I will definitely have God on my side.  And no matter what happens...I’m going to be just fine!!happy

        • Hello ladies, I have to go with A* hands down because God is in control of all things. What makes me come to this conclusion? Well in the book of *Genesis which is the book of beginnings he created all things in and on the earth before he even created man/woman. He (God) gave a command to everything that he created, whenever he spoke a command to a thing it reacted. Even the winds and the seas obey him. (Matt.8:27) When God created all living things he did so just by speaking them into exsistance, when he created man/woman he formed us from the dust but we didn't come to life until he blew (HIS) breath of life in us. He is in control because he has given every man a measure of him as well as a measure of faith to believe in him, but there are those who chose not to believe in the one who created everything in the universe as well as in and on the earth including us humans. He is in control of everything that happens to us; Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee,.... Not merely by his omniscience, so he knows all men before their conception and birth; but with such a knowledge as had special love and affection joined with it; in which sense the Lord knows them that are his, as he does not others, and predestinates them unto eternal life; and which is not only before their formation in the womb, but before the foundation of the world, even from all eternity. The forming of the human foetus is God's act, and a curious piece of workmanship it is; see Psalm 139:15.

He knows our ins and outs our comings and goings before we do so I do believe that God is in control of everything we do. Yes he is in control of everything for he alone created all that exsist on earth as we know it.happyheart

I feel He doesn’t step in & change everything because He lets life go the way it goes.  Good things and bad things happen to everybody.   I don’t claim to understand why He sometimes does miracles and other times not; I think they must happen for special reasons.  I’ve had insulin-dependent diabetes since childhood—ever hear the term “chronic life-threatening condition“?  We don’t talk about it much...it means it’s no picnic.  I’ve asked for one of those miracles a few times!  But I trust and love God.  I believe someday it will all make sense, in Heaven.
