Ok so I am weak.... I need to have a carmel or chocolate fix occasionally. And the lowfat versions just don’t do it for me.
I can drink water until I’m swimming with the fish. I can balance my meals. I can even make sure my meals are healthy. Hey I did the scarsdale diet when I was only 17 so I got the food thing down when I focus.
But I just can’t kick the carmel/chocolate thing......

        • My weakness is potato chips.  I can NOT have them in the house.

Vicki...you are not weak, you are human!

If you're able to have just one or two chocolates, go for it.  You really have to honor your craving because you'll spend more time (and calories) trying to fill the need than if you simply eat one !  If you're dying for a hershey's kiss, cut it in half or quarters...eat one piece at a time...slowly!  You don't get more chocolate taste in your mouth for filling it with chocolate than you do for putting a smaller portion in that pie-hole!  You get FOUR tastes of chocolate and it's ONE piece of candy.

Hope this helps...i have found that eating slower and taking smaller bites is a real help.

        • My weak spot is when I have an emotionally challenging day...and there have been many this weak (intentional typo!)—I’m struggling to stay on plan, have managed to keep up with the water consumption, trying to keep healthy snacks at hand...but just caught myself prowling around the office to see if anyone had anything sweet!!!

        • I survived the night without chocolate other than a mug of lowfat sugar free hot chocolate.
Today is another day to face the challenge.....

        • Chocolate is my weakness too. So I use it to my advantage. My snacks are either Zone bars, or Clif bars - low glycemic, no artificial sweetners... and they are sweet enough to taste like a treat. I also use Glycoslim protein/meal replacement shakes for breakfast or a mid day snack. The chocolate tastes JUST like a chocolate milk shake if you put it in the blender with ice and milk. And when that just isn’t enough, I keep some semi-sweet chocolate chips in the freezer. When I have to have unadulterated chocolate, I grap a small handful. Adn to balance that, I make myself drink some herbal hot tea. estatic

        • Robin, coffee YES!!! again, not a weakness for me, a necessity!

I think if you really love chocolate, try switching to dark chocolate if you haven’t already. It’s actually good for you in moderation.  I buy the Dove dark and allow myself 2-3 pieces each day. I call it my medicine! estatic

        • My weak spot is chips, chocolate of any kind, and Mexican food.

          I am a chocaholic...

Give me a bag (big or small) of Hershey’s Kisses (especially with the almonds) and I will eat the entire bag in several hours.  It really is disgusting.

        • Anything sweet, chocolaty and warm!
Annie, I’m also a bread freak especially fresh baked and warm.
Not much of a salt craver but every once in a while it will hit me.
I don’t believe in depriving myself...if I want it I’ll usually get it in a small amount. If I don’t I’ll keep craving it and eventually loose control and pig out.
But I can not have lots of sweets in my house or I will eat until they are gone.

        • I don’t really ever crave sweets.  EXCEPT for those few days before it starts “raining” (my period).  I tend to like spicier foods or the Hint of Lime Tostitos with salsa!!!!!!!!!!
