I’ve been thinking about this alot lately! I tend to get really motivated and then burn out and I need to figure out how to maintain a constant level of motivation. So here is the list of what motivates me!

      MEMORY
I imagine the way I used to look and want to get close to that.

      DISGUST
Nothing works better than to take a good picture of how you really look. Post in a place where you see it all the time!

      IMAGINATION
I imagine my goals, fitting into that favorite pair of pants, etc.

      BLOGGING
I can’t believe how much blogging motivates me! Sometimes I write about something I want to do and once it is written feel that I have to do it.

      MOTIVATION BOARD
I put one of these together (it’s on my sparkpage). The jury is still out on whether or not this motivates me. I think I need to put it in a better place.

      HANGING OUT WITH MOTIVATED PEOPLE
It’s contagious! When I am with motivated and positive people, I become more motivated and positive. This is probably the most important for me.

Tell me what motivates you and maybe we can all be more motivated!

        • I like this... on SP there is a checklist as to why you are dieting and exercising. I re visit that regularly to see if my reasons have changed or are the same. I find that helpful for keeping me on track.
I agree that being around like minded peeps keeps me motivated and on track... the reason for the summer challenge, daily challenge and everything else. I keep thinking that surrounding myself with these thoughts and actions change will occur more “naturally“.

        • I agree. I also feel that positive motivation works much better than negative. I am also amazed that when I sign up for these challenges, I know I have be accountable to do it. I have to get used to SP more, I gave up when it seemed like it took too much time.

        • These are great! What motivates me is results!! Before when I couldn’t lose weight no matter how well I took care of myself and how well I ate, and how much I worked out, it was super depressing to be doing all the right things and not see any results. So RESULTS (immediate) motivate me for sure.

        • My motivation is my newly diagnosed diabetes...it scares the hell out of me...I see my mom struggle with it for years and I don’t want to see myself that way...Another motivation is for each pound I lose however small is exciting and a self-esteem builder...I am on a mission and the way I have been feeling lately...nothing is gonna get in my way!
