      Hello ladies!
As I have aged, I have changed my skin care routine a few times. I am 45, and have been using Philosophy for a while now. I was wondering if there was something else I should try that works, but is not quite so pricey. What works for you?
      Thanks for the advice!  Lisa

        • I have used many different brands through out the years, most of them pretty good, some pretty pricey. I’m almost 54, and have always taken good care of my skin. I still have wrinkles. Oh well. Anyway, I’ve decided to forgo the chemicals and am embarking on making my own skin care products. I’m still waiting on a couple of ingredients, then I can get started. But I have switched to using olive oil to cleanse my face. It even takes off waterproof mascara! Probably not good for those with oily skin. But I have had compliments recently on my “glowing” complexion. So maybe it’s helping?  I’ll try to keep you posted!

        • Olay is one that I have been considering.  Dove and Neutrogena were other possibilities.  So happy to hear it works!

        • I have been using Beauticontrol Cosmetics for over 15 years.  I do sell it but I’m not big into selling it.  I mainly buy it for me and a few customers.
They have an excellent skin care line that I think is the best and the most cost effective. The good thing about Beauticontrol..is you can become a consultant just to buy your own stuff at a discount. In other words...you can become a wholesale buyer without really selling it. It’s up to you.
But I get compliments on my skin and face all the time!

        • I also use Mary Kay.  I was using this facial scrub which I think was Clear and Clean but it was too harsh for my skin.  I also use the Targeted Action Eye Revitalizer by MK for my dark circles.

        • I’m 48. I’ve had sensitive skin most of my adult life.  It appears that most products irritate my skin...even those labeled as non comedogenic and hypo allergenic. I’m not quite sure which ingredient(s)I’m allergic to.

For about 2 years now, I’ve been using Kinerase mosturizers, under eye cream and facial cleanser.  The irritation is gone!  These products are expensive!  Once in a while I’ll get samples of new products to see if they work for me and so far they haven’t.  I’d really like to spend less than $95 for a moisturizer!  Any suggestions?

        • Hi Lisa, I use Sei Bella from Melaleuca. It was developed by NY fashion designer Nicole Miller. I love it for several reasons. One is there are no toxic chemicals such as pthalates or formaldehyde which are so common in most skin care and cosmetics. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a breakout. The price is so reasonable. $45 for cleanser, toner and moistrizer - all three! It’s high end quality at drug store prices. You do have to be a preferred customer to shop with Melaleuca - so if you‘re interested in taking  look at the products and benefits let me know. I’d love to show you. I am a Senior Director with them.

          Happy New Year! sueptx

        • I have also used Arbonne for several years now, though, I’m not happy with the new formulation. My skin is much oiler with it...so I’m searching for something new that is free of animal products and other “yucky” chemicals.

        • Even though a dermatologist advised me to use products from the same line to get the best benefits, I use a hodgepodge of stuff: Neutrogena scrub, Lift Fusion (from Sephora) on that pesky line between my brows, Clarins moisturizer on my face and neck and sometimes Clarins for the eye area as well as Garnier for dark circles.

        • I have used Cetaphil for years.  I love how gentle but effective it is.  Recently, however, I ran out.  I work for Clorox who owns Burts Bees and had some product from a give away and used it to clean my skin.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I used Deep Cleansing Cream.  Its feels rich but doesn’t leave any residue behind.  sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate free, paraben free.  No animal testing and 97% natural.  The only thing unnatural I see on tube I am looking at right now is the preservative.

I have very sensitive skin (irish girl happy).  There are many natural products I cant use including Arbonne. They are great products just not for me.  I have had no reaction to this.  Just soft skin.  Target has the biggest display of their products but walmart is catching up.  And just so you don’t think I’m trying to sell product...I really don’t care for their lip balm...very drying...give me the old fashion black tube of chapstick!
