I have had so many bad dates in my life I’ve had to take time out and look at myself. But I do have a few great stories to tell.

Some of the worst dates take place in the best restaurants!

I was once in a 5 star Italian restaurant and my date shoveled his salad part way into his mouth and then stuffed the rest in with his fingers. I wanted to crawl under a table.

You know you‘re with the wrong date when he can’t find anything he likes on a 5 star menu. Then we have to stop at Mc Donald’s drive through and a liquor store afterwards. (I’m still embarrased)

        • I went on a date with a guy to a sushi place in NYC.  Conversation was tough so I started to talk about sports.  The Knicks were in the playoffs for basketball and I had been watching every game.  I asked him if he had been watching the series.   He said, “Oh I am not really into sports, as a kid I was always out of shape, I hated gym class.”   All I could think of was, if he and I got into a fight I could kick his butt!   I don’t know about you, but I like a guy who I feel can protect me in a sticky situation.

At least the sushi was good.

        • A few years ago my cousin-in-law set me up with a friend of her brother’s....bad idea.  He called me a few times before we actually went on a date and he sounded okay (and quiet).  But when he took me out we went to this really nice restaurant in my town that is quiet, nice atmosphere, good food.  Well, he talked the entire time, I couldn’t get a word in to save my life AND he talked loud enough for our entire area to hear.  I was so embarrassed.  After dinner, he took me home and asked when he could call me again and take me out.  I told him no....just like that.  I figured why beat around the bush.  I haven’t been on a blind date since and don’t think I will.  It’s funny now to think about it but at the time I just couldn’t wait to get out of there.  I haven’t even been to the same restaurant since then!  happy

        • It was a blind date. We went to one of my favorite restaurants. The guy was really annoying and I wanted out of there a.s.a.p. He seemed to want to stay longer and asked if I would like to go out again. I told him I really needed to get home to my 5 kids (didn’t have any). He said you have 5 kids!!!??? He took me home dropped me off and I never heard from him again!

        • Oh yes........ years ago with this guy who I had met through work and he seemed very funny and had a sense of humour – I met him after work and he was in the bar – he had a few drinks before I arrived so at first was quite funny and flirty but by the time we got seated the drinks had kicked in and he got louder and ruder and very aggressive – then he went through the menu and decided to order for me – so I went to the rest room on route I told the waiter to get the bill and order a cab – I paid the bill and left ....... apparently the waiter said he didn't notice until an hour had passed as he was really going at the wine and arguing with the table next to ours ........ Strangely enough he never called and I've never seen him since

        • A date in 10th grade.  We went to an ethnic restaurant in Mount Rainier, Maryland.  Not the greatest of neighborhoods to visit or especially to eat in.  Sitting there enjoying my first “real” date when a very large cockroach walks up the wall beside me.  I screamed!  We left immediately.  About the only things I am scared to death of are bugs.  This pushed me over the edge.  It was all down hill from here.

        • Not sure what year It was, but It was on new years eve and my girlfriend and I had dates that night, her boyfriend and his friend which was my blind date that night, they took us to El Torito and both my friend and I were dressed up and they had jeans and t-shirts. Well my blind date was eating like he had not eaten In days, He was just scarfing the food down and then let out a belch. I was thinking, wow! and I told my friend, Hey! I need to use the restroom, come with me. So she did and I told her, I’m not going back to that table with that rude no manners guy!, so we snuck out the door, they were sitting where they couldn’t see us and we hopped on a bus and headed home.
