Is he crazy? Out of touch? Trying to intentionally undermine Obama’s campaign? Saying what he truly believes? What do you think?

        • Jesse Jackson serves no purpose...period.  He is from my home state...and I can definitely vouch for it!!  LOL

Have you ever wondered what his exact job is?  I mean ...exactly what does he do?  I have never figured it out...but what I do know is...he loves to get in on every thing that has to do with his race when he really isn’t a player at that particular game or issue.  It’s like he has to make his little speech about something he is not even involved in.  I’ve never seen him do one thing to help any other race or speak up shall I say for any other race but his own.  I’m for all races...not just one.

I think he just likes to hear himself speak....

        • In my opinion (I read that if you put that it avoids argument)Jesse Jackson is a racist pig.  I too have never figured out what his job is, except for stirring shit to make it stink and causing racial tension.

        • I’m sure they’ve been alot of political “hitch-hickers” this year, and in past years.

        • Im not defending Jesse Jackson but I do recall when the Schivo woman was being put to death in Florida by her ex husband whom her family suspected he played a part in her vegetative state, that few came to her aide or her families aid, but Jesse Jackson did.  He spoke up and said that although she may be brain dead it was up to her maker to take her when its her time.  He fought to save her from being starved to death from her tube removal.  He was one of the few voices brave enough to speak up on her behalf.  I will never forget it and he has also done so much humanitarian things over the years.. I could go on.  The Schivo woman was still put to death at the request of her husband, but Jesse Jackson was a Hero.

I recall when the elections started Jesse was caught on tape saying some nasties about Obama but you know.. Obama shook his head and said he had no problems with Jesse Jackson.  Jesse’s own son recanted his fathers words.

Could it be Jesse, is just getting a bit old, and forgetful and speaks his mind, right or wrong.  But can still support Obama even though he may have differences with him ?

          I think so.

Again, Im not endorsing any candidate, just stating my opinion on this particular question.  Go Vote People.. Vote your heart.

        • First of all:  sorry this is soooo long.

Jesus‘girl, I have to agree with you about the Schivo case.  I have told my family, that I don’t want to live like that.  Even if they have to slip me something to put me out of my misery.  I couldn’t bear putting my family through the daily heartbreak, not to mention who would have to give up their life to take care of me.  Yes her husband, “in my opinion” was a piece of shit, and should have been made to take responsibility for why she was in that situation.  But because Jesse Jackson supported the fact that she should have been kept on machines to prolong the inevitable, that don’t change my opinion of him.  Because personally, I didn’t agree with that either.

But the reason I posted the comment that I did, is because I think that he will put his hand in whatever pot will put him in the limelight.

Anyway, here’s an article about Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Obama.

And no disrespect greeneyedgirl, but I don’t think his age nor forgetfulness has anything to do with his disrespect ~ no matter who or what color it is he’s disrespecting.  Unless he’s been diagnosed with Alzheimers, there is no excuse for his using degrading and discourteous remarks to describe anybody or any group.  I wonder whatelse he’s said that nobody has overheard.

Jackson Also Used N-Word in Taped Conversation Critical of Obama

A FOX News camera captured the Rev. Jesse Jackson uttering the N-word while he was preparing to tape an interview earlier this month, a word he has denounced publicly as degrading to African Americans.

A FOX News camera captured the Rev. Jesse Jackson uttering the N-word while he was preparing to tape an interview earlier this month, a word he has denounced publicly as degrading to African Americans.

On Wednesday, FOX News’ host Bill O‘Reilly revealed the details of Jackson’s appearance on tape, saying that he wanted to lay to rest reports based on news leaks.

Appearing on “Studio B With Shepard Smith,” Smith asked O‘Reilly if Jackson’s remarks included the N-word, as some news reports had indicated.

“Yeah. And it’s trash talking,” O‘Reilly said.

Jackson has been vocally critical of others’ use of the N-word, saying it is hurtful to the black community, whether it is used by blacks or whites.

For instance, after a November 2006 rant by “Seinfeld” star Michael Richards during a stand-up routine laden with the N-word, Jackson joined other black leaders to challenge the entertainment industry to stop using the slur. He also called for a boycott of the “Seinfeld” DVD series that was coming out because of Richards’ use of the slur.

“We want to give our ancestors a present,” Jackson said at a news conference at the time. “Dignity over degradation.”

Jackson’s comment came when he was discussing Barack Obama, saying the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee is “talking down to black people,” and “telling niggers how to behave.”

FOX News aired a portion of the tape last week where Jackson was criticizing Obama because it was deemed newsworthy. O‘Reilly said the N-word was not deemed so, because it “did not advance the story in one way, shape or form.”

In the portion that aired, Jackson said he would cut Obama’s “nuts off,” referring to his dispute with Obama over faith-based initiatives.

"I'm not in the business of hurting Jesse Jackson - because it does hurt Jesse Jackson - and I'm not in the business of creating some kind of controversy that's not relevant to the general subject: one civil rights leader disparaging another over policy. So we held it back. Some weasel leaked it to the Internet," O'Reilly said.

O‘Reilly told Smith there was nothing more of value to the interview tape.

          “That’s all I have. ... You’ve got everything now.”

Bill Clinton, speaking Thursday in New York City, said the controversy is over.

“My reaction is that ... [his] apology was a good thing to do and he was big enough to quickly apologize and if all of us lived on live mics then 100 percent of us in this room would be embarrassed from time to time,” Clinton said. “He’s a good man and he did what he could to make it right.”

Jackson - who is traveling in Spain - apologized in a statement Wednesday for "hurtful words" but didn't offer specifics.

“I am deeply saddened and distressed by the pain and sorrow that I have caused as a result of my hurtful words. I apologize again to Senator Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, their children as well as to the American public,” Jackson said. “There really is no justification for my comments and I hope that the Obama family and the American public will forgive me. I also pray that we, as a nation, can move on to address the real issues that affect the American people.”

A spokeswoman for Jackson’s civil rights organization, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, said she could not confirm that Jackson used the slur.

        • jldixon No disrespect taken, its cool.  Great point you made.

Im just not sure if someone is brain dead or not.  They just had a brain dead patient wake up after 10 years.. and he was on Television.  His wife was with him.  I dont think we know enough about the human brain.  Again, I know its prolonging life artificially.  But, if I recall her husband was trying to have her put to death to collect on life insurance, and pay his debts, and since he was the husband any half portions of lawsuits he filed on her behalf, from her alledged fall.  I dont think he was being merciful.   I could be wrong.

I think Jesse is getting old.  I think he has been spouting off and not realizing what he is saying or he is saying what he means and suddenly no one is listening.. something new for him to deal with.
