    • I know losing weight is a tough road to follow and maybe you have experimented with something that you’ve been dying to share with others. I’d like to invite you to share with the group what you’ve discovered because it just might be what one of us needs.

        • Well I have stopped doing a big weekly food shop I get all my cleaning stuff via the Internet monthly and I now buy frsh each day and plan the food so I can’t just sit here daily hoover food into my gob .....

I have changed my routine for a month and cut back on business lunch/ breakfast appointments so I’m not tempted at all.

Might seem drastic but it’s working and yes it’s been hard and I’m lucky I can do this - but this weekend is a big trade show which will be a huge temptation so I’m taking food & no money just enough for coffee.

        • I have recently made a change in my diet hopefully for the better (i did write this in someones question too). I am now eating about 10 times per day at about 1.5-2 hrs apart.
Ex: meal 1 apple with a small scoop of PB

              meal 2 handful of almonds

meal 3 cottage cheeze with friut

meal 4 grilled chicken and salad (or brown rice for dinner)

It’s about 4 veggies per day and 3 friuts with some protein... this was mainly to help get my metabolism back in line and keep my sugar levels balanced.

And now I only buy food to keep in the house for 1-2 days at a time.

My downfall is I am still drinking 2 cups of coffee daily with a splash of cream.

Too soon to tell if my metab will get in line but I am feeling more energy.

        • Vikki,UkGirl,

You both have good routines. My goal will be to incorporate both into one. I have tried eating more instead of starving my body and it did feel better but financially hard. Tomorrow I am going to get some vitamins, lay off the sugar and drink more water. Maybe I should increase my fruits and vegetables too.

        • I eat practically every hour....I liken it to constant grazing! They say it is very good for the metabolism.

I prob consume 100-400 cal at a crack. I am very aware of protein intake vs. carbs. I keep almonds, craisins, hard boiled eggs, chicken or turkey slices, fiber one bars, fruits n veggies, yogurt, cottage cheese and multi grain sandwich thins on hand at all times to make quick snacks. I use lo-cal mustards and chipotles to season.

Unless I go out to a restaurant...this is my intake every day. It’s easier when you don’t have to worry about feeding meals to a SO or kids.

Tonite I had whole wheat pasta with minced clams n pesto, grated parm cheese and hot pepper flakes. Yum!

        • Let me tell you that going from barely eating twice a day to 10 times has been a challenge. But I started small and just kept adding a meal. I am trying to stay away from a lot of pasta, rice, bread. When I did the atkins diet yrs ago I found out that those were my hot foods... ya know the ones you really crave and alter your personality when you don’t get (meaning I was a bit**). So I may have 1 serving a day of one of those...

          baby steps

        • Well I only figured it out because on the atkins you can only have 20 grams of carbs per day (less if you don’t lose weight fast enough). When I cut down on the carbs I was compared to a smoker who had quit smoking......

Anyways I have only been changing 1 or 2 things at a time and working on them until they are a habit. That way I am not so overwhelmed and have a better chance at success....

Dana Arcuri (godsglamorgirl) also went on a yeast free diet and I have been reading about that.... check it out on line or go to her profile for links. It’s amazing what all yeast can do to you if you have too much in your system.

        • The one thing I do remember is that if I was short on carbs I got a tremendous headache. I do not know where my success is hiding.

        • Oh yeah I had the headaches too for about a week then it was fine.... thats one reason why I haven’t kicked my coffee habit.

As for success... well when it’s all said and done who knows if I will be successful. Some days are a real challenge. But I do know that it’s up to me and only me to change my medical future so.....
