One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to stop back in here and really commit to being a member of Fabulously40. I want to make new friends.. it’s not like myspace were kids are..or facebook were games are..nor linkedin were I have found people will say anything to make a connection with you. To me Fabuluosly40 and Beyond is about women empowering themself and I so want to commit to that here and now. So I’m starting my New Year’s Resolution early.. and 2013 will be a great year of meeting so many of you and connecting.
Other resolutions I am making are:
I know what you mean. In a few years my oldest will be going off into the world getting her first apt. at least I hope it’s a few years. It’s going to be hard because we‘re all so close already yet there are times I feel like in a blink of an eye she could be my first to leave the nest and I want to bond more before that happens.
How do parents go through this? Is there a book I should be reading getting myself ready for this? A check list? My girls don’t even like going away a whole weekend without talking to me, yet one day it will come and they won’t live with me anymore. I know I’m raising them right, everyone says they‘re mature and respectful so them heading out into the world isn’t a big fear it’s the missing them that’s going to hurt. I actually told my oldest the other day we need to be apart more.. get use to it a little at a time. She looked at me like ‘Mom are you really saying that!’ I told her seperation anxiety is going to be a big issue cause we all do everything together.
I try not to make any resolutions because I never stick to them. My goal in the coming year is to have peace and joy in my heart, life and everything that I set out to do.

My new year resolution is to stay healthy! I plan on running more this year and running in more races. I also would like to maintain the non busy schedule that I’ve adopted since training for the marathon that I ran this past October. I have finally learned to balance my weeks. And I’ve also learned to say “no” to people. That’s it.
That’s great Mary Clark! Keep me posted on your races please I’d love to here all about it.
I’ve been so busy these past weeks, I haven’t even thought about new years.
I may adopt a New Year’s motto instead of resolutions. Maybe something like: “Work hard, play hard, love deeply and smile like I’m up to something.”

Not really into making resolutions, but I’ve promised myself that I’m making this year all about me.
Every New Year’s Eve I make a list of things I want to work on/accomplish in the coming year. If I get it done, great, if not, I decide if it’s worth moving to the new list. I then burn the old list and hang the new one up. Since I bought a home a few years ago, I’ve also been making a list of things to do for and to the house. Both hang on the back of my closet door so I can check them periodically. I’ve already been putting ideas on scrap paper.
My New Years resolution is to focus on keeping my brain and body healthy and stress-free, encouraging the best out of my family and to continue to be a loving, responsible human being.
