When do you tell your Boss - Coworkers?

This is a question that I have seen being asked quite a bit lately so I thought I would pose the question to the group to get your thoughts.

So when do you tell your Boss and/or Co-workers that you are getting a divorce.

I know for me I felt really weird when my husband and I separated and had a hard time telling anyone other than my parents. It was a few weeks/months before I told some of my co-workers and it was probably a good 4 to 5 months before I told my boss and even with the time delay it was an emotional experience.  I just wasn’t ready to deal with the awkward questions.  

What has been your experience? When did you tell your boss/co-workers that you were separated/divorced? In hindsight do you think you should have told them sooner or waited longer?  

If you are in the middle of this dilemma what are your thoughts - have you told anyone at work yet? If so how did you decide to do it? If not what is your hesitation?
