      Merriam-Webster defines elegance as:

1 a: refined grace or dignified propriety : urbanity b: tasteful richness of design or ornamentation  c: dignified gracefulness or restrained beauty of style : polish  d: scientific precision, neatness, and simplicity
      2: something that is elegant

Using this definition, who do believe is a woman of elegance?

Your choice can be a women who is living or dead....just make sure you tell us why you believe this woman is elegant.

        • Okay...no one is going to jump on this one so here is my list of elegant women...living or dead:

          1. *Audrey Hepburn *- beauty, style, grace, simplicity dedication to a cause.

2.* Grace Kelly * - style, grace, beauty, ability to give everything up, mainly a lucrative movie career, for the one she loved.

          3. Jackie O - style, grace, ability to live in the spotlight with dignity especially in the face of tragedy.

          4. *Helen Mirren *- beauty, grace, ability to live her according to what she believes and knows about herself, being faithful to her craft.

          5. Julie Andrews - grace, beauty, sincerity, sharing her talent and then losing it in recent years.

          6. Doris Day - beauty, grace, style, ability in coming back after losing it all (her husband embezzled all of her earnings from the first part of her career, I beleive her first husband abused her)

          7. Oprah Winfrey - style, grace, integrity, ability to break through the glass ceiling for women, for always "Giving Back".

          8. Jane Austen - the beauty of her words...her sense & sensibility, insight, teaching us about the elegance of a time gone by...teaching us about women...that we have always had strong personalities.

        • Sophia Loren - in my eyes was always the most elegant woman, she has been an icon of glamor. Stylish, graceful and respectable in Hollywood community,

          !pic(image description)!

She managed to rise out of poverty in Italy and has been a woman of poise and purpose.”

        • Let’s not forget that she is not using Botox, and I don’t even think she had surgery, she pretty much has complete movement of her face (as of the last interview few years back) Haven’t seen her recently

        • Speaking of Sophia...have you seen the new Guess girl....OMG...she looks just like a young Sophia...absolutely stunning....Ana Nicole wishes she was this beautiful, sexy, smoldering, alluring...all wrapped up in a nice package of classy.

Here’s some more questions to consider when picking elegant women...

Sexy...does this play a role in the definition of elegance or does it knock a woman out of the running?  If not, why doesn’t it knock her out? If they are sexy women, what attributes add to there overall style and personality that put them in the category of elegant...women who you would most like to emulate or admire...OR do all the other attributes ultimately make them sexy?

        • Stephanie:

I agree with your first two choices completely...tell me about your thinking about Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts...why do believe they are elegant women?  Not that I disagree with you...I just want to read why you feel they fit in this category.
