Paris is my favorite town. Chime in if you are a fan too or are dreaming of going. I can give you tips and I’m sure you have tips you can share with me.
My favorite HOT restaurants in Paris right now are:
Le Chateaubriand
Table 28
L‘Avant Gout (wine bar)
Giulio Giulio (japanese)
My favorite affordable hotel is Le Relais St. Sulpice
My new favorite area to discover is the 9th. Very cool restaurants here and true Parisians. Plus Rose Bakery - A place I love.
Exciting new shop: Merci
Read about it all on my website www.girlsguidetoparis.com
Share me your insider tips on Paris from your travels there. And where do you love to go, besides Paris (yes i realize there are other great places to travel to).
I also love Vietnam, Thailand, South Africa, Spain (particularly the south and Barcelona) and Bordeaux in France - we recently bought a house near there.
Hello Aquamarine,
Thanks for the recommendations. I’m currently in Paris for my first big visit since I was 18. I’m on my 11th day of a two month stay in Paris and am loving it. I’d love to know more about your experience with French real estate as my husband and I are considering a purchase as well. How did you decide to purchase where you did and what advice would you give to someone just beginning their search?
I am definitly going to check out your list of favorite restaurants. I’m already tired of my guidebook.
I just left a comment on your profile with a link to a wonderful chateau just outside of Paris, near La Defense

Have a wonderful time!
I’ve never been to Paris. But love the idea of going, its been at the top of my bucket list for years. I may go later this year since I’m going to visit my daughter who is moving to Germany.
Nice to hear from all of you Francophiles! For Lorrainela, do go to my site and you’ll find hundreds of resto reviews there - we have an incredible food writer on the ground in Paris who brings us tasty and unusual finds each week. www.girlsguidetoparis.com/ourcurrentfave
Re: real estate - It is a bit different than buying RE in the states because you deal with a Notaire instead of a lawyer, but they are basically quite similar. Getting a loan can be quite difficult however. We did for our apt. in Paris and didn’t for the most recent purchase in Bordeaux. Pay attention to French inheritance law as well. Feel free to contact me if you want more details - info@girlsguidetoparis.com
Enjoy your long stay!
How delicious for you.
Oh and we have DIY downloadable walking tours that folks truly love, check them out at www.girlsguidetoparis.com/mapstore

Girls’ Guide to Paris
After seeing this thread yesterday I became inspired to make something I haven’t made in years - confiture de lait. It was delicious! My husband had never tried it so I toasted a little baquette and smeared some on it for him. Now he’s hooked!
Doni,
Thank you for that website of yours! I enjoyed it well into the wee hours of the morning.
The information about the elusive Parisian name was tres enlightening. I look forward to spending more time on your site.
And CHOCOLATIER, my o my - your husband is one lucky guy!
It’s been another fabulous day in Paris enjoying the Rodin museum and gardens, then getting caught in a light rain upon leaving the Eiffel Tower with a bottle of wine and fresh hot bread in hand for the evening’s meal...
I agree - confiture du lait - not sure I’ve ever had that!
Need some now in fact...
I adore the Rodin museum, the cafe outside in nice weather is divine.
And the Camille Claudel sculptures as well as the Rodin of course - are oh so sexy!
Ahhh the romance of Paris -
Going on Sat! Hooray.
