Of course life’s experiences have tempered us into being wiser(and yes, older). Friends and family too have helped us become who we are.  There are too, those wonderful books and even videos that have helped us on the way.

Please share with us resources that have helped you find bits of wisdom.

        • Ok! I started this and I have a bunch to share!!! Hehehehe.

I have seriously been on a quest for women’s wisdom for a few years now.

First, I want to share this video set. The title of it says it all:
          Women of Wisdom and Power.

It has remarkable, fabulous speakers like:
          Jane GoodallLynn Twist
          Anita RoddickErica Jong
          Joan BorysenkoSark
          Jean HoustonGail Sheehy
          Sherry AndersonApela Colorado
          Ilene CummingsLaurel Mellin
          Gloria SteinemShirley MacLaine
          Naomi WolfAlanis Morissette
          China GallandCarol Christ
          Oriah Mountain Dreamer

Here is what I had to say in a review about this 3 part video series:
A few years ago I started to do a web site for Filipina women which evolved into an organization around the world[circa  2000]. I was seriously having a personal struggle about all the work and wanting to give it up, until I watched the Women of Wisdom and Power shows. What a difference they made! My eyes opened up to the larger meaning of the work. My heart burst with more love and I became even more dedicated to the cause of awakening women around the world! Well my prayers were answered with your tapes. I knew the moment you started talking about heroism and bravery. Now I have been on fire. It was the sustenance I was looking for...

for clips of it you can go to: [Link Removed]

There are 3 parts: Passages, Ageless Beauty and The Power Within.

The women in these videos just speak volumes about women’s essence and what really is most valuable, beautiful and powerful about us, so different from what mass media has been feeding us. Can be life changing if you‘re ready for it.

        • A Woman of Wisdom: Honoring and Celebrating Who You Are by Caroline Joy Adams.

Beautifully illustrated book. Has pages of quotations, exquisitely written and painted, that I just want to tear out, frame and place on the walls.  I’m gonna share the quotes in a new. “wise thoughts” thread for this group.

Most importantly, it has some journalling and workbook pages to help you sort out your innermost thoughts and contemplations to help you find your Self.

I hope you get to discover, enjoy and cherish this book as much as I have had for many years.

        • Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom

          book by Dr. Christiane Northrup

If you‘re body has issues(and whose doesn’t?!!) check out this book. There are different sections on different things. She not only talks about physical ailments/disease/illness, but she also suggests things about your personal life and internal life to contemplate upon, that might be related or affecting your body. Interesting, insightful.

Listen to your body’s wisdom—-it’s trying to tell you something.
