I hate working out! I really, really hate working out. I am the queen of Lazy.
But last night I was watching the recordings I saved on the biggest loser and I saw that Jillian had the guests crawling on the treadmill at a steep incline as fast as they could.
I do own a treadmill so tonight I thought about trying that to see how that might work for me.
Today is my dads 65th birthday and I really want to get from my current weight of 179 to 145 before his next birthday.
All the support and checkin in with someone that I did do it would be awesome.

        • Dear Marilyn09,

Not sure how I will be of service to you but I will. Getting fit is a reachable goal just make sure you choose the method that works for you, no matter how small it seems or sounds.

I started out with just walking the block. Now I can jog a mile. Run the steps at the church on campus and workout with my own equipment that I have in my house.

Go for it. I am here for you.

        • I just got back from a family reunion weekend.
Kandy, I dont breathe correctly or something, I dont know tongue out, (i wish I had a bike- but I just have a treadmill) I always get winded before my muscles even start to burn, I was thinking crawling around could help in that I would feel a burn before I got winded. Thursday night I crawled around my furniture to see if it helped with that and my 4 month old puppy loved it. I felt the burn in my buttocks and stomach. I was hoping that I would feel something in my arms too but I didnt. happy

Fran, Lisa, Vikki and Deb, Thanks for the support. I forgot about the family reunion this weekend. But I will track my diet and excercise log every day and post it here. (please yell at me if I miss a day estatic) I will be more responsible if I knew I had to be accountable estatic estatic

        • I found that when I don’t go so strict on myself...but just try to make better choices ....I do so much better. If I walk around thinking “OMG..I’m on a diet“...then the stress of the “OMG..I’m on a diet“...causes me to panic eventually then I’m off of the “OMG...I“m on a diet“.  Does that make sense????estatic

Exercising is very hard for me as well.  I am lazy..and would much rather be on FAB40 or Facebook than taking a nice walk outside...or going to the gym. I was going to the gym every morning around 5:30am and walking on the treadmill..but I got tendonitis in my foot and that stopped me and now...I’m not motivated to go.  But I’m working on it.  Just give yourself time to really get dedicated.

Which one is the Ab Lounger? What does it look like? Post a pic if you can.

I jogged around the block 3 times and walked 2. It was dark so I didn’t do the mile by the college.

          I ate tunafish for dinner.

By the way.. Today my abs are killing me.

        • Regarding my last diet intake post, 10/1/09 later after I wrote it I was craving a pb& j sandwich so I had one- right. Then, I counted the calories-  a whopping 575 calories. Now I owe 300 on the tready.

10/2/09 we took my mom out to play in a texas holdem tournament and a dinner buffet at the casino by our house. I know I cheated. But it was for my moms 63rd birthday. So I will not post the calories I ate yesterday- I am sure it was like 2300 cals but we had a great time even though no one placed.

10/3/09 I will post tonight todays cals and I will burn the pb & j sandwich cals that I owe from Thursday and just pretend Fridays calories never happened.happy

Trust me you‘re not alone with any of it. I thought I was doing a smart thing with eating a “quick” snack (PB&J) good thing I’m not counting caloriestongue out.

I remember that Ab-lounger, never had one though. I read that 30 minutes of jogging burns 327 calories. Imagine how that made me feel, since my latest accomplished goal is jogging a mile or 1 hour (whichever comes first).

          Have a great Sunday!

        • Marilyn,

I cannot give you a true timeline. One week maybe, but remember I have been walking for months. This one day I jogged a block then the next day I jogged a little further. I was just determined, so I included things that would take my thoughts off the “grueling” part of the jog.

I now have my MP3 with music and the headset that won’t slip off my ears when I’m sweating and one throat lozenger as I practice right breathing my throat sometimes dries out (getting better though)in through the nose out through the mouth.

I jog one way and have my daughter pick me up until I succeed at being able to walk back home before it gets dark.
