Will anyone be going to the 127 Yard Sale this year? It is also known as the World’s Longest Yard Sale .It runs from West Unity,Ohio to Gadsden,Alabama August 6-9

.Last year my b/f and I went for the first time and on the last day ,yet there were still a lot of vendor’s. This year we plan to go the first or second day. Though I think it would be a blast to do the entire thing ,we had intended to go from Chattanooga,TN up to Jamestown,TN .We left before daylight and would you believe that we only made it as far as Crossville before it got too dark to see . That is normally roughly a 1 hour and 41 minute drive .So unless you don’t stop at every vendor and don’t look at thing’s real good ,I’m sorry but there is just NO WAY that you could make it though the entire sale through 4 states‘.They need to make it a week long at least. You drive awhile, see a BIG area that resembles your local flea market ,then you go a few more mile’s an see the same set up.

There is just a little bit of everything. Something’s that you’ve never even seen in your life.

It’s best to go knowing what your looking for that way you don’t end up with a bunch of stuff that you end up selling at your next yard sale .HAHA! Also make sure that its something that you really want and spend your money wisely. What stinks is when you find something ,so unique that you feel that you won’t find another one like it ,pay a fair price ,then go a couple miles up the road and find the same thin g only cheaper .Also you need to wear comfy shoes ,comfy clothes for warm weather , sun screen, sun glasses,LOTS of water ,pack a picnic lunch and back pack ,a roomy vehicle and rope in case you find something that has to be tied to the roof or run out of space “inside” your vehicle LOL!!!

We are both yard sale/flea market fan’s so we have come to know what we‘re looking for after 6 year’s. My main thing’s that I look for ... country decor , Amish decor as well as NASCAR .My b/f looks for hunting/fishing stuff .

      GOOGLE FOR...127 SALE

        • I used to watch a program called junkin on sat mornings. They would go around to different yards sells and find all kinds of thing and auction them off. They went to this longest yard sale once and it was amazing. I would really love to go one year.

Frannie, I love yard sales too....but around here, these folks want you to pay what they paid for it. You can really find good deals if you look for them.

        • Me too frannie!! I love antique stores. Anything that is old. I like to pretend that it has a story to tell.
I am the same way when I have a yard sale. I just want it to go away.

Believe it or not 95% of my house is decorated from 2nd hand place’s .Not a mish mash of stuff and junk ,but very tastefully done. A lady I know says that I can  take nothing and make it into something.

Often times I buy something, keep it for a while ,get tired of it,sell it in my own yard sale and buy something else.estatic

        • Well don’t you know.... last year I had just moved to Chattanooga while this was going on. And where am I now? In Memphis!!!!!

If I can convince the hubz or kids to go on a road trip with me then I am gonna give it a try.

Termagsea is it near Knoxville at all? Maybe I can turn it into a visit with the father in law.....
