I’ve been to a couple of meet ups with members over the last year or so; they‘re a lot of fun. It gives us a chance to connect faces and voices with our posts and blogs, develop friendships, network and just have a good time with lots of laughs. If members were to organize meet ups in various areas, do you think you’d attend? Social networking has really come into its own over the past few years. Many people connect online but never actually meet in person.
I live on an island. I have some friends here but since I’m originally from California I wanted to be able to connect with other women from “home.” The friends I left behind years ago have drifted away and we don’t stay in touch. This site gave me an opportunity to re build friendships in my home state and beyond - an opportunity I will always cherish.
So my question is, would you be interested in attending meet ups in your area?
That’s Tracy and her husband, Roger with Lu and Kelly. We had a blast in Vegas. Where’s the rest of our group??
I would love the opportunity to meet other fabbers, looking at the cruise coming up in October, the cost may not make it possible for me. I’d be looking at close to $1000 for a 3 day weekend, during the school year, as a single parent, currently on disability, I just can’t see how I could spend that kind of money. Meet ups closer to me would be more ideal...but I still have a few more days to decide on it.
Yes!!!! that would be so awesome!
I would love to! However, at this point in my life, I am tied down with parental commitments. Perhaps in a year or so. I think that it would be fun.
I am working on putting one together in the Fort Worth area
Yes I am interested. And I actually went to one in Chattanooga with a few of the ladies.
Who would have thought that Chattanooga has the potential to have a meetup and Memphis doesn’t....
Sounds like fun! Anyone close to Western Massachusetts?
I would love to as well my problem is they are usually on the weekend and I work weekends.
I have a nephew in McKinney Texas who is a brand new parent. I’ve been thinking of visiting him at some point and if I do I’ll organize something in the Dallas area - I think Dallas is near McKinney.
I’m close to Houston. I’d love to go.
If you want to take the initiative and become your city’s chapter leader please let me know.
We have everything set up to do this.
If you visit your own profile and click on the star with your gio location (bellow your picture) you will see everyone that is within your city. I can help you contact everyone with details on where and when to meet.
What works best for the San Diego area is when we meet for drinks rather than dinners, not sure why, some people are shy and maybe think that if it’s only a drink and they don’t like the atmosphere they will leave sooner? Or maybe because dinner could be costly?
Message me and I’ll work with you on getting your local chapter off the ground.
The only thing we ask is that local groups are attended by premium members. It takes a lot of work on our end to pull the information, come up with newsletters and announcements, and from previous experience, those members that have made a commitment to upgrade will show up. There is nothing more frustrating than setting up a meet up with 20 people who RSVP, only to have 3 or 4 show up.
That’s my two cents for the week.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Sure, I will try to go where ever a meet up is if I am able to. It is always fun to finally meet!
A local meet up would be a lot of fun!
we had a blast at the last one!!!
YES! Where are those western WA ladies?
I love meet-up opportunities, the one I attended in OC was so much fun. I enjoyed meeting fellow fabbers in person, sharing stories and laughs. I’d love to start an official chapter for my area and help Fab40 grow.
I would love to meet-up with our fabulous ladies.. If it was near by I live in the Texas area..
Im in Los Angeles- Burbank San Fernando areawould love to meet up
Besides the gals that already messaged me, if you would like to become a chapter leader please message me for details.
I will get back to everyone next week when I get rid of my cold.
I love the meet up that we had in OC. Personal I think we should do them more often but yet my kids are grow so it’s easier for me and I know a lot of you ladies still have yours at home.
Yana sorry about your cold the spring ones are the worst
I think that would be great! Would love to attend one close to my area!
