Much to my husband’s chagrin, I’m through buying cheap shoes. As a young girl I worked in a clothing store and always dressed nice. But who knew about shoes and how they‘re made at that age? All I cared about was that they were cute and they went with my outfit and, of course, my handbag. So now I’ve earned every one of my bunions, what used to actually be pretty feet are a bit gnarled and I’m committing right here and now to buying only good shoes! And, I don’t care what they cost (ok that’s an over statement) but I will have no problem paying a couple hundred dollars (or so)  for a good pair of shoes. Italian leather, here I come! After all, this little Sicilian girl needs to do whatever she can to support the motherland, right?

        • That is exactly right! The price for sexy shoes, sometimes maybe a bunion.:)

I was a shoe diva from walking age. When my daughter moved away from home.. I turned her bedroom into my shoe room.

        • I’m right there with you Cynthia.

I wear shoes for years, so I see nothing wrong with splurging.

        • As much as I love to have a lot of shoes...I’ve decided that I would rather have 10 pairs I adore than 25 that are great.  I’ve begun to spend my money on amazing shoes and then buy “fun” shoes when they are on major clearance so I can wear them for fun for a season.  A good black boot doesn’t go out of style - so spend a good amount on them! I’m all for the splurge!

        • Amen! At least with good shoes we don’t have to worry about not being able to zip them up anymore. Manolo B here I come!

        • I think shoes are one area where you really should pay extra for quality. There’s nothing worse than aching feet from cheapo shoes.

        • NOt only do I purchase good, expensive shoes, I keep my shoe repair guys in business. When you have really good shoes, you can have them worked on so they last and last. I think my shoe repair guy thinks i play soccer in mine, but they come back from his shop looking new.  He can even change heel height which is great for me because I am already so tall and wearing 4 inchers during the day is a bit much.

        • I personally would love to buy just one pair of pretty shoes that don’t hurt my feet-I’d be willing to spend a couple of hundred dollars for that pair!
Heck, I spent $160 for a pair of orthopedic sandals just last month!
The worst part-the RA in my feet make them so NOT pretty, so here I have a pair of sandals AND I‘M TRYING TO HIDE MY TOES!!!!
Good shoes are really a must-if your feet hurt, your face scrunches up and you look old and ugly-who wants that?

          BTW, love the picture!!!
