Thanks Eva. I have started the exercise already. I am walking and riding the bike at the gym but I think I need more consistency.
You have to keep in mind too that at our age you develop a little tummy fat or widening of the waist due to menopause. I believe the nasty term is menopot!
And the only thing that will help it is cardio and eating right. However lifting weights is equally important. So you should balance them both.

Brimstone, I don't know if you're on Face Book, but I'm in a group on there called Black Women Do Workout. There are many success stories on there as well as nutritionists and doctors who give instructions on what to eat and how to exercise. Some of us went from overweight to competing in body building contests and have won (in fact one of them is over 70 years old! She looks marvelous!) We share food combinations, juicing recipes, and support each other through our struggles, which is the best thing. So come on in!
Okay I have been doing just that and I bought a hula hoop for $3 at the Disney store and I have been hula hooping for twenty minutes day - my back core muscles have improved 100% and yes my waist is returning and my tummy is reducing - did you know 20mins is burning 100 calories all for $3
