Q & A

This is more of a statement. I don’t know if you remember about 6 months ago I asked about a dirty sock smellcoming out of my brand new window a/c unit. I forget who told me to check for mold...also I googled and found that it could come from the drip pan OR could be circulated in the air from another source through my air conditioner. Meanwhile my little bunnies were always sick. Well, I have been moved now for 4 months. As we were cleaning up the old place my fiance noticed mold was on the wall behind the bed (where one bun would sleep under the bed..) about a 3ft area. I never noticed because I didn’t open the window in there (the bed headboard was up against the window) and the furniture is too heavy to move ... never thought to clean behind it. Anyway, since moved the animals are healthy! not one visit to the vet. and We are feeling better too! I just wanted to let you ladies be aware of this mold problem! and I sure do clean the window seals and check under them regularly now!

    • Wow, UK girl!  I am glad your friend is ok. Thank you for all the nice words, yes all healthy now! we were having to go to the vet (about 125.00 per visit) every 3-4 weeks! took forever to pay them off. Our poor lil bunnies!

Phil thinks it was the condensation from the window... as it was on the bottom of the curtain (that touched the floor) I googled it and found...
Where on a window does condensation normally form and why?

Condensation often forms at the meeting rail and at the bottom of the lower sash on the interior of the glass.
This is because when warm air cools, it falls down across the interior surface of the window at the same time the temperature of the air is falling.

The air contacts the horizontal surface of the meeting rail, which acts like a dam, slowing the air’s rate of fall and creating the perfect opportunity for the trapped water vapor to escape and form on the meeting rail’s surface.

The air then rolls over the edge of the meeting rail and again gains speed until it encounters the lower handle of the sash. At this point, the water vapor again makes its exit and lies at the bottom of the sash.

       ————————————-Thus comes the mold ....
      EWWWWW!
      Take care.

All is well, Phil has bonded with the male neighbors via “guy stuff” ; tools, mechanics at the garages...etc..

So, she is the lone complainer...

So Finally things have settled YAAAY!
