    • Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan do I remember those days when I just had to have a new suit or dress for Easter lol, and as I look back I now say why?, for what? The day isn’t even about me lol, its all about the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Why would I want all eyes on me to see what I’m wearing now that I know better, it’s all about do they see The Christ in me, and not what I’m wearing I tell you time truly does being about change, thank you Jesus for the change in me!

    • Denise....I was thinking about the same thing today.  Yep....I use to have to have a new Easter dress every year.  But now...I am a member of a more contemporary Baptist church where we do not dress up each Sunday.  Those things are really not that important but that you are at church is what is important.  God doesn’t care what you wear...but he cares that you worship Him.

So to answer your question...no Easter dress...not hat....I’m wearing a springy outfit but I’ve worn it several times already.estatic

    • LOL ain’t that the truth Mary I think we’ve all been there and done that if we tell the truth, but like you said Jesus wants our worship and fellowship with him he cares not about what we come in, he tells us to come as we are he will make all things new within us anyhow he ain’t even thinking about the clothes lol, thats us doing that! He wants our souls to be saved so that we all can have eternal life with him. Amen. Have a Blessed day tomorrow!happy

    • I’ve never had an Easter hat.
When I was a kid, I always had a new dress for Easter, but then I wore it until I got a new dress for the Christmas program.
Nowadays, I haven’t had a new dress specifically at Easter since my son was a year old, so.... fifteen years.

I’ll be wearing a nice spring skirt and tshirt tomorrow.  Skirt is from the thrift shop and I’ve already worn it a few weeks ago.

    • I remembered the good old days of the suits and well made dresses for Easter.  Anyhow, like many time is a great teacher and I have grown and learned a lot over time and with the teaching of the Holy Spirit I am guided differently.  I got a startling revelation that it has nothing to do with me at all but the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  There is no new nothing for me but will be going to Church for a great worship session.

I wonder also how is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ translates into hats, suits, eggs and bunnies???

    • [Link Removed], well you would love to see me dressed my mom said a woman isn’t totally dressed unless she has on a hat to top off her outfit girrrrrrrrl I was known for my hats and pumps and purses lol.

@Brimstone I got some literature on how the eggs and bunny came to be as well as the word easter but I have to find it but of course you know it is all man made up traditions that in Gods eyes he doesn’t even honor it.

    • I don’t know where the “easter bunny” thing came from either, but my guess is it likely stemmed from maybe another religious culture? And I remember way back when that the tradition of cleaning ourselves up and wearing our finest was in honor of Jesus, as part of the celebration, along with fine foods, because we were celebrating the miracle and having a party to rejoice in the overcoming of the evil done to him and us.

It was thought that killing him would kill our spirit of faith and humanity would then follow the Roman government without issue, which had some primative ideas and prejudices.

Wow... wonder what else is lurking in memories. LOL
