Best Answer

I guess it all depends on what qualities you‘re looking for in a genuine friend and what would you consider to be genuine, everyone has a different outlook of real true friendship that may different from someone elses.

    • I’m with Neicy...it depends on what you are looking for in a friend.
For me I have LOTS OF FRIENDS...and they all are different...different personalities...different interests....so...with that said...I do certain things with certain friends...etc...I can’t imagine life without ALL OF MY FRIENDS....

But..the main thing is...you have TO BE A FRIEND TO GAIN A FRIEND...

I know, for me, there have been times when I had a great time with another mom working a fundraiser or something like that and assumed that we were friends to find that the other mom did not feel that way towards me. It’s hard to get knocked down and to keep picking yourself back up.  Also I find myself tired and wanting quiet time at home more than I used to.  A lot of people just don’t have the energy to build a lot of quality friendships, sad to say.

Mary, you hit the nail on the head when you said you have to be a friend to gain a friend.

    • I agree, it can be very hard to make friends in a new area, especially when people are accustomed to living a certain way, their traditions, their cliques, etc...going from a small area to a large area can be very difficult, because many people never leave where they grow up and it makes it that much harder...not to mention jealousies, trust me, I have seen it all, moving from one place to another.happy
