I am one of the women fighting the menopot. And it is a constant battle!!! The main thing is as you age you can’t do the sames things exercise and dietary as in the past. The results won’t be the same.

I used to be able to do shake meal replacement and lose the weight. Not anymore! I need to feel good, create energy and balance so when I eat it’s all about doing that vs only losing weight.

I want to feel youthful more than look youthful.

    • Vikki, love that line  .... “I want to feel youthful more than look youthful.” ;oD

And I do have to work harder now and change up exercise more after 50 for me.

    • It’s been a real struggle for me since I moved to Toronto. The adjustment of having another mouth to feed after being single for so long and living large city. I was so used to being able to go into the country and bike and hike. I’m adjusting slowly and working on finding some place where I can get out and do my thing.

    • I got so sick of the weight gain I had put on in the past (10) years...some due to medication, having a hysterectomy, and some life trials that I finally made a drastic decision to have gastric bypass surgery in November.  For years I had tried to diet and lose the weight but it just wouldn’t budge.  I also felt like I didn’t have another year to try to lose the weight before something medically bit me in the butt.  I come from a family with bad genes.  So...I bit the dog before he bit me.  I’m proud to say I’ve lost 65.2 lbs. and I feel better than I have in years.  My energy level is unbelievable and I’ve had absolutely no trouble from my surgery.  Best decision I could have made for ME!
I understand where you are coming from...it’s a constant struggle.

    • Just like your friend, I also lost alot of weight over 4 years ago by quitting soda.  When the intital weight came off, I finally got motivated to lose more, eat healthier, and exercise.  I don’t deprive myself of the food I crave, just eat less and or exercise more.  I look and feel so much better now than when I was in my teens.

Weighing myself as well as if my clothes fit alright is a daily routine for me.

    • It can be a struggle, Wandalee...I felt and looked great three years ago, then I was very sick and also had another abdominal surgery, so it is taking some time to get back into shape...but with vigilance, it can happen.happy
