    • Yes I am bossy and domineering and loyal to a fault like most Leos however I don’t necessarily like being the center of attention...

    • Thank you Annie, I’ll give it a try. I am also a Libra, but being born in the third decanate I’m very close to Scorpio, 3 planets in Virgo, with a Gemini Ascendant, and also a Moon in Taurus, there is no way I can be a typical Libra. In fact, many of the sun sign traits of Libra are almost insulting, to say the least. I once read it takes a Libra 20 minutes to select a candy bar because they have to balance all the ingredients and consider the advantages and disadvantages. Say what?!

Understanding why you have certain traits not listed under your Sun sign means you’ll need a working knowledge of astrology and get a natal chart done. A chart is like a blue print of the sky when you were born. There are 12 zodiac signs and in a chart wheel there are twelve 30-degree sections called houses. This will show you where all of your planets were in whatever sign, house and aspect at the moment of birth. I don’t put much into general sun sign astrology because there must be millions of people born during that 30 day period of the 12 zodiac signs, so no one has the same planetary makeup. A classic astrologer, Jeanne Dixon, wrote she believed the signs represented the 12 apostles, so that all could understand the word of God.

Each planet represents certain aspects, the Sun (which the generalized Sun sign astrology is based) stands for a person’s ego, the Moon how one expresses emotions, Mercury how one thinks and communicates, Venus how a person shows affection, Mars - their drive as well as sexual expression, Jupiter - a person’s ambitions, Saturn - self discipline, Uranus - their creative expression, Neptune the imagination, and in the traditional sense Pluto - how a person transforms him or her self or the way they undo themselves. The Ascendant or Rising Sign is where astrologers look first because this represents the personality, outlook and the way the person sees the world.

I have 11 articles on examiner.com where I teach astrology from the ground up. Even my astrologer friends tell me they‘re learning things they never knew before, so I’m positive I’m doing it right. I’m local so look for the Long Island Astrologer Examiner, there’s a Lifestyle section and under Astrology & Paranormal, the first thing that pops up should be me!

    • I’m with Kyah on the full scale of our birth chart explains why we seemingly don’t fit our sun sign. Mine is Pices on the cusp but I have a variety of earth, water, fire and air included in my entire astrological chart that even on the cusp, you wouldn’t recognize me as a Pices or Aquarius. I have a dollop of everything.

    • Sorry Annie, I’m not a premium member in here so I can’t post a direct link. Just go to examiner.com, change the city to New York/Long Island and follow the steps I mentioned above.
