    • I consider then as associates and not friends, they are those who only want to come around if I’m having something or they want to show something they have off.

***NOTE: If you must called them any type of friend you can call those types fair weather friends lol.

    • I have a sister like this. Sometimes she takes time out to care about me and sometimes not for a long time and then if I figure it won’t matter if I write her back, she acts concerned. It is how she is and that’s it. My brother is the opposite. He calls to tell me he’s going out of town on a job or going to be busy doing his kitchen make over, then calls to tell me about the out of town job (this last winter he worked up in Canada in frozen tundra land!) and all about his kitchen project when it’s done. This is my brother that talked to me every day I’d
gone through with no heat or power during a major snow storm. 5 days! My brother is my friend too.

I have some dear friends, and I have some friends that will help me help myself, and I have a few to just visit with now and then that I rarely hear from.

It’s interesting to having a wide scope of friendships. ;oD

    • I have a few friends like that.  It’s just the way they are and I don’t worry about it because they are not my closest friends.  For all I know, I’m that kind of friend to some people as well.

    • I must be that person!!!!! I assume people are busy too so I will sometimes send a text or email out letting them know I am thinking of them.

Because I spend a lot of time in my car I could make calls then but I just don’t want it to seem like I am using them for “filler“!

I’m sorry for being that person!!!!

    • Yes, unfortunately most of my so-called “friends” are like that.  I do have one friend who does call like clockwork every few weeks to check in.

What really bugs me is not only the fact that I always have to be the one to be calling them but then when I do call, they don’t bother to return the call! frown

    • Mary, I want to be my own best friend too!

I have a friend that doesn’t call for ages, doesn’t send Christmas cards, yet would be on the phone with me for two hours if I needed her and I could show up at her doorstep tomorrow (she lives 800 miles away) and she’d let me and me daughter stay as long as we needed to.  I’ve known her 25 years and will always consider her to be a good friend.  She’s the exception though.  Usually I stop considering people to be friends if I never hear from them.

    • I was always one of those with one or two really close friends, and now everyone has just drifted away. And i really need the friends, I have most of my friends here.
My family is what hurts, they are exactly what everyone has described here, my son, whom i love and i just cant get to the “unlove” stage.
He only seems to want me if he needs something, and when he is done with needing me, then im just the parent he is ashamed of, his dad has money, so he loves him very much!
Sorry if im ranting, im just really hurt right now, and im having alot of problems getting over it.
      So my friends are here.
