    • Hmm, apparently you can’t edit questions?

I wanted to add, what is a good age for boys to start dating????

Personally I have the same thought with him as I did the girls, not until he’s 18!!!

    • Gosh Melissa, that’s sounds just as bad as one at 16 wanting to be part of the family already.  Seems like there ought to be a healthy comfortable middle ground!

    • My son is 17.  He has had 2 “serious” girlfriends and I have enjoyed a really nice relationship with both.  I am fortunate that my “approval” is important to my son so i am very careful not to alienate his girlfriends.  So far, so good.  His past girlfriend sent me a Happy Mother’s Day text this year and they haven’t dated since last September!  Maybe the fact that i have two daughters makes it easier for me to relate to my son’s girl friends.  If i’ve learned one thing in my years as a parent, i’ve learned that trying to put a wedge between my child and someone/something they think they want is the quickest way to insure that they will move closer to that something/someone.

I sometimes think that God’s purpose in giving us children is to teach us humility.

    • My son is 23 and has had two serious girlfriends...one of whom turned out to be 30, and that scared me, but it didn’t last longer than a year.  As for now, he is concentrating on his goals and dating here and there.

    • The ones I’ve met I’ve somehow intimidated and scared away. Not sure why....might be cause I pick up on vibes and just know “she ain’t the one” but I usually keep that to myself.
