Q & A

Yesterday my family and I went to Carrow’s for brunch. When the waitress came over to take our order she had an ipad thingy. It wasn’t an ipad itself but something Similar to an ipad made by someone else. Anyway to get back on track, I guess this is something new now, instead of taking your order on a tablet, they now have these ipad computer thingies that they use now. I don’t think I like that...lol
It took way too long to get all of our orders.

Question: Do you have any Restaurants near you that are now using this method of taking orders? And what do you think of it?

    • Maybe they have to get use to using their pads and learning about it more but for now, it took too long to take our orders and heaven forbid if you change your order...lol

So maybe it will take sometime for them to learn it and hopefully get the hang of it. We asked her if it was easier for them this way and she said, no..it’s easier on the cooks to get the orders in the back. worried of course it’s easier for them, they don’t have to use the pads! lol!!

I know there’s another restaurant that the customers can use ipads to put their orders in right at the table, but they give you that choice, if your not comfortable using them you can still have a waitress/waiter take your order.

    • Many cash registers are like that now. Progress takes time.

    • Never been to an Ipad place, but have been to several upper scale restuarants that did not write orders down at all-and no mistakes for 9 people.

    • Hi Frannie yes its the wave of ther future and maybe she just has to get used to doing it with the iPad thingy I personally don’t mind them using them just as long as they know what their doing and can do it in a timel fashion and make sure our orders are correct lol.happy

    • I go out every now and then with a friend and my daughter and the waitresses there use something that I suppose is an ipad type thing.  Those girls know what they are doing with them.  I asked for imported beer and in two seconds she had the whole list for me.  Nice!

    • Never seen it anywhere I have been. It seems that most of the restaurants we go to the wait staff just memorized our order. no writing of anything!

    • I’d rather them use the iPad or write it down, that memory thing seems like too much pressure especially if they work a bay of different tables....
