Did you happen to catch the Jaycee Dugard story last night on ABC?  Diane Sawyer did a wonderful job hosting this very sad story.

    • What that poor girl went through and the brain-washing those two twisted freaks did to her...between the Caylee Anthony tragedy and now this, I just can’t understand the hurt inflicted on children.frownfrown

    • It was on a channel that didn’t want to come in clearly and maybe I could’ve wrestled the rabbit ears into cooperating, but I wasn’t really up to watching it. As Annie said... it’s too
      sad/painful.

    • Yes, but it happens, so I guess it is important for the public to be informed about the dangers out there.  We have sex offenders in our area, and thank God for Family Watchdog, it is a site that lists who they are and where they live.

    • I watched it and I was absolutely amazed at her strength and calmness and the sheer ability to talk about it without falling to pieces.

It was sad but more than anything it gave hope to so many.  That was her mission...to give others hope and teach people what to do and what not to do..etc.

All I have to say is that she has received some outstanding counseling and 20 million from the state helps too.  Of course there will never be enough money to award her for the pain and hell she went through but the money will help her afford the therapy and privacy she will need for the rest of her life and her girl’s lives.

I admire her and what stuck out the most for me was the decision NOT to let that man take anymore from her thus...living each day to the fullest and living life and not living in fear, or in depression.  I’m sure she has her days just like the rest of us but her ability to move on as she has is almost non-human like.  I truly believe she is here for a reason..not sure what it is...but so far she has taught me to appreciate the little things...and to appreciate life...freedom.  And most of all don’t take those we love for granted!
Diane Sawyer did superb job of interviewing her.  heart
