    • I agree with Eva’s response. My boss overlooks the positives of an employee and points out the negatives in performance evaluations. And the kiss a... or staff he really doesn’t know gets rewarded.

    • It’s not how hard you work, it’s how you look/act to your superiors! Sad to say.

    • So true what the others have said. Also in my own experience I tend to pay more attention to those that are not performing. Therefore it looks like they are being rewarded. My statement as a manager has always been “If you see me alot then you are NOT doing your job and if you don’t see much of me then you are performing to or above standards“. I know that seems wrong but when you only have a few hours in the day I focus more on those who are lacking.

    • I like to think there is a little word called “clique“..every organization, facility, school, business has them and it can be a rotten thing for the hard worker that wants to just do their job, socialize minimally and then head home.

    • Ah yes, the boot lickers, the two-faced people, the slackers and brown nosers get recognized where I work; and the hard workers are unappreciated, or if they are, it’s what I call a gorilla biscuit (the gesture is lick your thumb and press it to someone’s forehead LOL, and that’s the clean version). But you know what? when the hard workers are gone, their contributions are evident and the ones in charge realize (too late of course) who actually pulled their weight. That’s okay, because I know I would not be able to live with myself if I was one of those kiss ups.

    • No it is not you!  Don’t stop doing what you do.  Continue to be true to yourself, you never know whose watching.  There are a handful of superiors looking for hard workers with integrity to join their team.  I have a very small team that started out as temps and should have stayed temps for at least 4 months.  They were hired full time without my blessings.  Now I am stuck with two very dishonest and lazy employees and that is not going to change.  One don’t want to do more than the other.  They want to work 30 hour and get paid for 40. I do not trust them at all. Ages 35+. I need to train someone as my backup/assistance and I rather hire someone from the outside, lol.   It is so hard to find people of integrity.  Everybody wants to get over.

    • Hi Monay, girrrrrrrrrrl you said that right! People are such a trip wanting something for nothing, it pees me to no end because I work hard at work to provide the best care to my residents and to over see the satff that works under me to make sure they are doing the same but of course there are those who can get away with murder in the eyes of management and I just don’t understand it. I will never lower myself to their level its just not in me to do it. I have empathy as well as feeling for these people and if no one stands up for them who will, I try so hard but it seems my efforts are over looked.
