    • The definition of an all-around insecure person might be “Someone who doesn’t believe that he or she will be liked/loved if his or her true self is known.”

People can be insecure in specific areas, like driving for example and laugh too much, swear, sweat, etc when they are facing that insecurity head-on.

    • Yes, I can see that, Anonymous, but ... Why do they have something to hide? Seems to me we only hide what will embarrass us for others to know about us or fear of rejection?

    • How I would define an insecure person is someone who’s afraid to trust their own decisions and needs someone else to make them for them so they aren’t at fault.

    • I agree with you all, and it makes me wonder where this stems from..is an individual born this way?, or is insecurity a learned thing, maybe something lacking in their development or in childhood?..could it also be inherited?

The reason I say this, is because I know a couple of insecure people and they had very nurturing parents and I know others who are very secure and their childhood was horrible.
