    • I prefer hardwood above all else. It is more durable than laminate and also adds better resale value. I’m not a fan of carpet because it’s harder to keep clean and anyone with any kind of sinus issues shouldn’t have carpet. It holds dust and other allergans like nothing else.

    • My daughter is in the flooring business.  She would sell you laminate.

In my last house, I tore out the livingroom carpet and installed pre-finished oak parquet flooring.  It scratched like crazy!  Did not hold up to my children or my dogs or my ratty old furniture.

I’ve cleaned tons of homes and I have nothing but good things to say about laminate floors.

For myself, I have a lot of chemical sensitivites, the only thing I would put in my home would be old fashioned linoleum (not vinyl) made from linseed oil and natural fibers.

    • Hardwood. I love the way it shines in the sunlight and it’s easier to keep clean. I have a couple of rugs that I take up and beat the hell out of, but I would never have wall to wall carpet.

    • I have hardwood flooring throughout the living and dining rooms, (bedrooms too, but that has area rugs on them) and you absolutely cannot get any water on there because it will seep through and discolor the wood, as I learned from a few floor plants that dripped water accidentally...in my family room, there is laminate flooring that we put down and it stands up to everything!

Carpet is just a playground for molds, bacteria and dirt.

Tile flooring is next for my kitchen..I love it!!
