Anyone crochet? If so, what are you working on? What response do you receive when an item is given as a gift?
I used to crochet tons, but knit more now. I quit giving it as gifts long ago. I used to love making doilies and lace things. Nobody wants them. My girls can only use so many scarves, mittens aren’t warm enough....... basically nobody I know is enthused about crochet gifts unless it’s an afgan.

In my younger years I used to crochet doiles and afgans to use at home and then lost interest. A couple of years ago my daughter asked me to show her the basics and ever since she’s been “hooked” on it. I’m impressed that she creates a lot of her own designs and last year she sold roses at school. Also, last fall we both participated in a Christmas bazaar. There were plenty of wow’s, ahhs and how cute on her creations than people buying, but it was fun. She’s going to do it again this year so she’s crocheting away.
Linda, I used to do a lot of craft fairs and some years I did real well. Christmas ornaments were a big seller for me several years. As you say though, always more compliments than actual cash laid out.
