    • I don’t live on the east coast but I’m worried for our members in that area. I’ve e-mailed a couple of them to see if they‘re alright.

    • I’m in VA but pretty far from the beaches!!  I didn’t go grocery shopping today and am hoping that there is still food tomorrow in the stores!

Hope everyone stays safe this weekend.

    • Luckily I’m about a mile up from the evacuation point in Long Island. I will hunker down with hopes we don’t lose power. If so, I think I’ll finish work on my third book. Got coffee, water and some food, flashlights, batteries, radios and CD player. Camera battery, cell phone charged as well as computers even though if the power is out all I’ll be able to do is straight typing.

First Aid Kit: bandaids, triple antibiotic ointment & vodka.... happy

    • Hub just finished putting bags of sand around the perimeter of our home as we are in a flood zone area and the water can seep in very quickly...I do hope my mulch doesn’t wash into the street like the last storm we had..a huge mess!

I food shopped yesterday, have plenty of bottled water, flashlights, batteries, candles, etc..

Running the air conditioner all day in case we lose power, the house will be cool for a while.

This is just nuts, first an earthquake tremor and now hurricane conditions, please not a blizzard this winter.heartbreak

    • Last night, we cleaned up the yard & put everything away & helped our neighbor put things in her garage.  This morning, however, her increasingly senile stepfather got mad that the garage had all this stuff in it, does NOT believe in the hurricane & is currently proceeding to empty it out again...argh!

    • Thanks all, we‘re just hanging on watching this storm creep on in. Just heard the tornado watch, and I’m glad it’s just a watch and not a warning. However, the hurricane is still a hurricane, hasn’t weakened to tropical storm strength yet. 40 mile per hour winds have started, but that’s only half of what’s expected tomorrow....

We even had a second earthquake in upstate NY earlier this morning measuring a 2.9 and it wasn’t an aftershock.
