How long is your lunchbreak? How do you spend that time? For 32 years, I had 30 minutes to eat, make calls and read my Bible.

I am a retired teacher of 2 years. This is the norm where I live. Now, I have lunches that are so leisure that I have to remember it is luchtime.lol

I don’t have a lunch break. I go to work at 7 and sometime between then and 4 I usually find a minute to snarf down some food and send a few texts.
It’s like one of newton’s laws or something that when you work in a restaurant, as soon as you fix yourself something to eat, customers are going to pour in and you WILL be eating cold food later.

I have an hour. I cherish that hour too. When I taught school I only had 20 minutes to get 22-25 kindergarteners into a lunch room...get their trays...get them seated and situated and maybe have 10 minutes to eat a bite myself and then get them out of the cafeteria...all in 20 minutes. Yeah... Butterflyrose...I understand you completely!!
Now I’m in the banking world..and I love my hour for lunch. Very stingy with it but I am in a position to take care of a lot of personal stuff throughout my day so I don’t have to use my lunch hour to do emails...or whatever..umm..like post on FAB40..LOL as I’m doing now. But when I get busy...w/members...then..I’m in another world.
That’s absolutely right Maryclark! Only in the last 10 years were we able to leave the students as we had to do all that you mentioned and sit with them during lunch. With that being said, I had about 22 years to eat, make calls and read my Bible within 30 minutes.
I definitely will not let the school system know that some systems only allow 20 minutes for lunch. Wow!
Now I finally know what it feels like to have a REAL lunchtime!lol
I’m glad you‘re experiencing a REAL lunchbreak. What a difference it can make in your life!
My job offers us 2-15 minute breaks and 1-30 minute lunch so I usually go out ot my vehicle and chat on my cell phone no eating at work for me, I usually wait til I come home to eat.

I don’t usually take a lunch break. I just eat and work at my desk.
I get an hour or so. We have a cafe on site. I eat with a friend and we go walking afterwards. We have two walking trails. Sometime we take and 1 1/2 and go shopping.
