At the tender age of 51 lol, I’m finding that after work or even on my days off I’m needing to find something to do. I need a new hobby, but not sure what it is I want to do. Any ideas ladies?
Just so you know I don’t like to knit/crochet or do scrapbooking.
Hi Tulip yessssss I love writing and still pegging away at my novel, but it seems I need something else to do in my spare time. What is Decoupage????
Are you looking for a crafty hobby? If so so photography, painting, jewelry making. And yes the possibilities are endless!
If you‘re thinking something else there is golf, bowling, dance classes, . And so many other things.
I like doing a variety of things depending on my current mood or depending on if I need to relax. So there is nothing wrong with having a few hobbies.

Have you considered cross stitch, embroidery, card making, drawing, stenciling, making pottery, gardening, playing a musical instrument or biking?

The painting and dance class‘es sound perfect for me thanks Vikki. The card making is another good one thanks Butterflyrose.
I started years ago taking floral decorating classes at our local adult school located in the senior high school..coming up in October I am taking a six week class in how to arrange florals in vases and planters as well as making special ribbons and corsages..does your local center or church offer any adult themed hobbies?
I think you should bake cakes, cupcakes etc...you’ve always said people like your cooking...do you like to bake?
I can’t believe you don’t like scrapbooking. With that grandbaby you could put all of her pictures in a scrapbook and doll it all up....and in your scrapbook...you could write stories about your granddaughter. It would be an awesome keepsake for her......
And in addition to writing stories...you could write her letters in the scrapbook.....tell her things you want her to always remember about you....and about life....about things....
Poetry, gardening, exercise, genealogy (my fave), reading, taking up an instrument.
@Mary, I have an online book I’m currently working on at www.Mycanvas.com I’m building a book about me and my life to leave for my grandchildren, so to me that is like scrapbooking it has lots of cute stuff you can use to add to your photos. I’ve done the geneology thing and I can’t afford piano classes right now that is the only instrument I’d like to learn to play. Baking for me is not an object however I do love to cook and bake but not to the point of doing it as a hobby lol.
I wish I could write poetry!

Neicy, I love sending cards to family and friends so I will either embellish pre-made cards or make and embellish my own.
Card making lends itself to using your creative skills to the extent that you choose.

What have you always wished you had more time for? When I worked long days and didn’t have “me” time, I had a list of things I wanted to do when I got the time.

Do you like to dance? How popular is the Chicago Style Steppin in your area. I tried a few classes here and it is a workout....123 456 78, lol
Monay, dancing was my thing back in the day and I was a ballroom and chicago style steppin’ queen, but I have gotten away from the dance scene because I don’t do clubs, bars casino’s etc... and yes it is a great workout.
