    • Oddly, my heart has been heavier for her parents than it has been for her!  Perhaps because i can sympathize with them more than i can with her?  I am very relieved that she has been freed because the evidence was very, very weak and very, very circumstantial.  I, too, believe that she is innocent.

It was interesting to learn how the Italian legal system works, though.  I think it’s BRILLIANT to have judges on the juries to assist the jurors.

    • I am very happy for her.  Since the beginning of the case, there have been too many loose ends.  I have not followed the case consistently, but what happened to the other people involved?..wasn’t her boyfriend and another man involved?  Were they charged or freed?

    • As in any case, there’s more to the story. I think she did have something to do with it, but she is not the only one!

    • I was very happy for her and her family that she was finally freed.  I don’t believe that she had anything to do with the murder at all. Very, very sloppy police work.  Also, isn’t the lead prosecutor sitting in jail right now for lying to the courts???

I haven’t followed the story in it’s entirety but when I read that they sent a police officer in dressed as a Dr. and gave her an examination and then told her she had HIV and they needed the names of every person she slept with....then they published the names of these guys!  Despictable!!  Plus the guy they have in prison, they found his semen inside of Meredith and his DNA all over the place.  They sentenced him to 16 years but where giving Amanda and Rafael 26 years???  I’m glad she’s free.

    • I’m happy with the decision. Just watching her parents and how they never gave up on her told me she was innocent of the crime. I think they acquitted the boyfriend, too. That’s what my boss was saying yesterday.
