    • My hubbie finished a side line job and got some money and gave me some and told me to buy something nice for myself.  Well, I went and hired a Personal  Trainer and got a Nutrionist.  I started my personal training this week Monday morning and will go for my second session on Thursday.  I will be going twice per week and three times on my own.  Gracious I am so out of shape it is not funny.  I met with the Nutrionist today and I know I will be making better choices in food.  I am so excited.

    • Exactly what do you do when you go see the Nutrionist? Do they show you what to eat and give you a list of foods to buy? My doctor keeps telling me I need to see a nutritionist and I always tell him I don’t need one, but of course I do. I just cannot get to one as often as he would like me too as I take public transportation and my work hours are not always the same lately anymore. Keep us posted on how it is working out for you.happyheart

    • When I met with a Nutritionist few years ago it was a really good experience. I kept a food journal for a month and returned she analyzed my eating habits and food choices. She made me aware of issues that I did not realize that I had. I still struggle with some of them but I am more aware and do not allow things like binge eating to go on for too long. My major problem was not eating enough calories each day to lose weight.  Which  surprised me. Which is why I tend to loose more weight when I count calories too.

    • Brimstone...I applaud you for using the money to improve your health! Good for you!

I’ve never had a personal trainer but I have seen a nutritionist.

Losing weight or maintaining a good healthy weight is all about portion control, good choices, and exercise.

    • Meeting the Nutritionist has been helpful so far.  I had to keep a food journal for 1 week to give her an idea of my eating habits.  Doing the food journal made me realised instantly that I really ate a lot, portions were out of control.  She went over my journal and was able to put together my foods.  All meals including snacks should be a protein and a carb.  No carbs or protein by themselves, the hungry pang comes back faster.  The education on eating and choices you can make really is enlightening.

The Personal Trainer is working my butts off.  It all has to do with doing exercises in the right manner especially using the weights.  This is my first time with weights.
