Q & A

Does anyone live or have livedin North Dakota? My S/O is thinking - only thinking about a move there for the jobs... I love Burbank/Los Angeles, I have been doing research but would like your input on what it is like living there. I would have to live in a metropolitan area

    • LOL!  There is no such thing as “metropolitan” in ND. Even the biggest cities are what you would call “small town” if you are used to LA.
Plus it’s COLD and most years there is LOTS of snow. My daughter moved there from South Dakota a few years ago. She still really hasn’t gotten used to it.
Honestly, unless you want to make some MAJOR lifestyle changes, stay put.

    • well, as metro as you could get... He is from jersey....I am from Oklahoma so we have been in the -0 temps and I do NOT like it....had enough snow to last me.

I looked at the info on the computer about what is available in Fargo as far as music, etc.. yeah it looked pretty much like a small okla town.....

Last yr we thought about going back to Tulsa (T-Town has come a LONG way though)but we then stayed in LA and was glad for that!

I think I would be miserable but if he doesn’t get work here we could be homeless so if it came to homeless or work in the middle of nowhere.... I was just trying to find some sort of light hehe.... no, I’m an LA girl...and I love the trees and flowers here.

Thanks for your input! where do you live Tulip?

Hopefully his work will pan out here soon.... I think we are just feeling all gloomy... thanks again. happy I needed someone to kick me in the pants ha. You actually made me chuckle out loud! Thanks

    • Well, one positive for ND is that there are lots of jobs there now what with the oil and coal industry.  I’ve even looked at going up to cook in the oil field because the wages are so high, but I have to get a lot more desperate for work before I’m going to leave home and hubby for a job.

I didn’t mean to sound harsh, but in reality, life here is pretty harsh.  I’ve seen a lot of people move here from warmer parts of the country and they just don’t adapt well and almost all of them leave again.

    • Gosh...I know I wouldn’t survive the cold.  But..at the same time...if that was how I was going to live as far as having a job...I would make it work.  If they got jobs then I would try my best to make the BEST out of it...and see what happens.  You never know...
