    • I ask this question for a reason of course...I clean extra special for the holidays...does that mean I’m not clean - NO.. it just means every now and then our home is messy. LOL I have a box for paperwork on my kitchen counter that sometimes gets a little full and we have cords from electronics all over the place.

Since dad passed I have boxes of his here too...so...

With a dog and 2 cats the rugs have to always be vacuumed and some days the litter box needs to be cleaned or even the floors...how bout you?

    • Marion....I am constantly cleaning it seems.  I have two big dogs that are inside dogs...so we vacuum almost everyday and mop religiously.  We hate it but we love our dogs.

But I think we all accumulate a little clutter from time to time.  I try to de-clutter about once a month.  So if I have someone that is stopping by my house I might pick up a little but the way I see it...it’s my house.  I live in it.  I want my house to look “lived in” and I’m not into presenting a persona that I’m neat and dust free all the time.  And if they are coming to my house they are usually my friends that don’t care.

Now if I’m having a party or a dinner w/ people other than my family I do extra cleaning and de-cluttering.  But for the most part my house stays fairly clean for anyone to stop by at a moments notice.

I will give you one of my tips:  The dryer is a great place to hide “junk” at the last minute...LOL

    • I’m an unashamed slob.  I had brunch here last sunday with all my kids home and my parents here.  Mom walked around saying, “you weren’t raised this way”

I did not have time to do any cleaning, and I might not have, even if I had had time.  It’s not important to me.  What is important is that we had a delicious meal and a lot of fun.

    • Yup, my mom really said that and no she wasn’t kidding.

I like the dryer idea, and the oven makes another great “hiding” place as long as you‘re not cooking a meal.
