    • I just thought of this question because of a conversation I had today with my brother. He’s brilliant like our dad but very high strung like our mom. I’m much more calm like our dad but I have my mom’s determination and stubborness. One day I asked my dad who I took after and he said, “honey you got the best of both.” He was only being diplomatic but it made me smile.estatic

    • I think I got the worst of both of them, though thankfully I’m mellower than my mom.  My dad is no bundle of ambition and I take after hiim in that respect.

    • Im pretty equal with good and bad from both...The things that really stick out..
I got my moms awesome cooking skills and unconditional love trait

I got my dads personality..through and through. I am a people person. My dad would not leave ANYWHERE without having a connection with someone who was a total stranger when he walked yn the room. He could have got off a plane in China and known the baggage handlers uncle from a liberty he had in 1944 during the navy in  WWII in Sydney Australia...LOL. He never forgot anyone and man,,,did he have the stories. I have alot of that from my dad! Plus I look just like him with my moms big boobs...LOL

    • Unfortunately I do scream a lot like my dad did and am talkative like my dad.  My mom was more of a quiet person.  She was smart in that she taught herself English so I guess I take my intelligence after her.  She was a small person so my small size comes from her.

My mom used to say to me alot, “You are nothing like me.  You are a lot like your dad.”  I found this to be interesting as I grew up with her and didn’t spend a whole lot of time with my dad.

    • I’m most like my mom, yet some traits are/were present in both.  I’m so blessed!  My mom was kind, generous, wise, intelligent, smart, creative, goal-oriented, very loving and cared for the welfare of our family-a provider.  A Proverbs 31 woman!  My dad is generous, intelligent, smart, creative,  wise, goal-oriented and cares about the family’s welfare-a provider. He has become a hugger and says I love you!heart

My mom and dad made quite a team!

    • I am like both of them, I feel. My Mother’s outlook more on life. How I interact is more under her influence than my Dad’s. My Dad’s temperament.

    • Okay now in all seriousness...

I get my bargain shopping and love of food samples from my mom... LOL.. When I was really young - I guess she was also funny and liked to laugh before she went into a depression.. I get that from her too...I love to laugh.

My dad taught me alot about family toward the end...not during the first 40+ years of my life but towards the end.  Family sticks together. It’s not like I didn’t stick together with family before -  it’s just that things that felt like an obligation then do not anymore.  Before he changed towards family I was always there for him and my mom but like I said - other things were an obligation... and guess what - he learned that from his dad but it took till he was 80 to start saying things about Family and saying - that’s what grandpa would say. So hooray grandpa and dad!

Oh.. I also am very talkative and LOVE to talk like both of them.  I do my best not to go off on talking tangents because my dad did that and drove us nuts so I have to catch myself...LOL

    • I like your question, Cynthia!

Since I know very little of my birth father, he left when I was eight years old, it remains a mystery to me...but I can say I did acquire his severe allergies...that is it!  My mom does not speak about him very often.

My mom, bless her heart, is a caring, patient, inquisitive, daring, industrious, loving individual who through her strife brought up two daughters that are as strong as she is.

      I love my Mom!heart
