Every time you “pay at the pump” or use the “self checkout” lane at the store, you are taking a fellow human being’s job, a cashiers job, away and giving it to a robot.
What do you think about that statement? Ture? False? Have you ever thought about it?
I don’t mind the self check out, but after thinking about it, I probably won’t use it again. I wouldn’t be too happy if it was my job getting phased out because of it.

I prefer dealing with people, so I never use the self check-out. For me it’s the equivalence of those annoying messages you get when you try and phone a company- “for information on your account press1, for details of our new offers press2- SOOOO ANNOYING! they never seem to have the right options! Sorry, a bit out of the subject...
Not off the subject at all. Those annoying phone options are because a human was phased out.

I don’t use self check out. And I pay at the pump because the people the gas station don’t leave their little booth. I do, however, prefer dealing with people.
I do not do either of those things. The elderly man at our local gas station is so sweet and I want to see him stay as long as he can. The self checkout is for people who are in such a hurry and want to plow through everyone..don’t like those things!
I rarely pay at the pump and I never use the self-checkout at the grocery stores.
I’ve never thought of it, but I think the statement is true. When getting gas I go in and pay cash. Sometimes if I have a few items I use the self-checkout at the grocery store, but there could be some problems and you have to wait for the attendant which could be awhile because he/she is helping another customer. I do prefer a cashier.
I do use the self checkout for purchasing “gas“. That doesn’t bother me because they still need a sales associate inside because people are still buying items inside and some people still pay with cash. That will never change!
I use the self check out, and I hate it. There’s always a human around to adjust problems on the machine, like the weight of something. But if there’s no line for the cashier, I’ll head for the human. I still see the same amount of cashiers, they‘re free to stock shelves.
