Do you shop for a new outfit to wear on Resurrection Sunday(Easter)?
For many years as an adult, I did. Now, I know longer feel the need to shop for a new outfit to wear to church. Just so happens, I went shopping about 3 weeks ago and bought a dress/jacket that I haven’t worn. This will be my attire on Resurrection Sunday.

Like you Beverly...I use to do the same thing....for years. Now...because of the church I attend which is contemporary we do not get into “dressing up” anymore. Our idea is that it doesn’t matter what you wear as long as you are there. If you are trying to reach the drunk on the corner of 5th and Broad Street who has nothing they are going to feel very intimidated to walk into a church filled with “dressed up individuals“. The goal here....to make those individuals feel they are welcomed and not out of place.
So....I sometimes will buy a new casual outfit but this year I am wearing an outfit that is new but I bought it just because not with EAster in mind.
I wanted a new dress this year, just because it’s been a long, long time (17 years) since I had a new Easter dress. I have gorgeous fabric, but didn’t have time to sew it. I hit a sale at the thrift shop, but they had nothing my size. I’ll be wearing the some ol, same ol.

And Tulip....THAT IS OKAY!! At least you are there!! That is all that matters!!![]()
NO! Jesus said come as you are!
"As you open the door to new relationships and remove the chain from your own fears, God will overwhelm you with new splendor."
I usually don’t. This year I had barely enough time to get my homework done and get dinner on the table so no shopping for me. Plus, our congregation doesn’t get dressed up.
