Q & A

I been gone for awhile, the last time I was on I shared a story about my two sons. Well since that time I lost another son to senseless violence in the city of Detroit. I am so so angry and filled with rage I really dont know how I feel all I know is that I feel so empty inside I just lost my oldest son thee years ago. I dont want to even go on ....I feel useless even though I know I did all I could do as a parent to guide them in the right direction. Everyday is a struggle for me to go on..its like I cant breathe and need to exhale but I cant...I know my daughter needs me, and Lord knows I am trying to be strong for her.I’m lost and don’t no how to go on from this.

    • Words are so inadequate here.  I wish you lived near to all of us so we could wrap you in hugs and love right now.  You and your family will be in my prayers.

    • I am so sorry for the loss and pain you are going through. Really there are no words that comfort you at this time. Just know that we are here and we do care.....

As for Detroit (my hometown) there are plenty of warm generous people. I’m not sure what part you are in but if you reach out you will be covered heart

    • So sorry to hear about your loss praying for you in your time of need. Not sure on your opinion on these things but I know when my niece (just a toddler) was murdered my family took it so incredibly hard and reached out to bereavement counselling there is a group know as the compassionate friends network not sure if you have one in your area. It’s kinda like AA but for parents and families who have lost children and need help expressing there sadness and anger with like minded people who understand what they are going through. The victims advocacy also assisted my family with counseling with actual licensed psychologists. Sometimes we really do just want to curl up and die ourselves as the pain feels far to great to go on but support is very comforting especially when it is by people who actually understand exactly what you are going through. The emotions are so varied from sadness to anger and rage that sometimes we just don’t have what it takes to handle all that emotion alone and you can even feel crazy, it is all normal. I do hope you can find somewhere or someone to reach out to who can understand how you feel as everything your feeling is so completely normal. I do pray that in time you can find some measure of peace that helps you get through this. There are days, most of them that I am very happy and life feels like it goes on but then I think of my niece or something reminds me of her and I fall apart, as you know it never goes away but the emotions become manageable in time, and there is no set limit for that time where you feel kinda normal again.
