This is so appalling!!! Have a heard about the ugly meter?
Both my daughter and I heard about it on the news last night. We were so shocked that there’s an affordable app for your iphone that scans people’s face and gives a rating of their appearance.
It was invented by 2 men and they said it’s just for fun not to insult anyone. They are so stupid for not realizing that it’s inappropriate and will be hurtful if the result is negative. It’s sad that children are being bullied at school and this is also a form of bullying.
In some ways the internet has made us as a society insensitive to the feelings of others. For example, look at the origins of Facebook. It was developed to do basically the same thing - rate the looks of female students. I’m betting the 2 men who developed this app are in the 30 year old range. They‘re completely out of touch with right and wrong. Just saying that the whole thing is for “fun” and not meant to offend anyone. You have to be insensitive to even believe in the first place that this wouldn’t be offensive. And shame on Apple for allowing this app to be available.
