    • That is another thing..so much pressure to not waste gas, that no one takes rides anymore just for fun!  I remember a time when hub and I would joyride.estatic

    • I still do that when I travel to the mainland. Hard to do it here, I’d just go around in a big circleestatic Although we do go up to the top of Haleakala sometimes just to poke around or look at the views. But when I go to the mainland I do that a lot. I get into the rental car and go. It’s fun.

    • Sometimes.  But as you say, the price of gas is prohibitive.  The dog loves to ride, but I pretty much only take her as far as the end of main street or maybe to the gas station because I don’t want to burn up gas.

    • Great answer, Cynthia..maybe a rental car once in a while is not a bad thing for me.

I would love to have a dog in time, T, and let his ears flop in the wind.

Hopefully things will change and we all can get back to exploring in our vehicles for no particular reason.estatic

    • Yes, hubby & I took a roadtrip a little more than a month ago.  I enjoy them for the sights, scenery, nurseries and eateries we discover  along the way.  I call them a “spontaneous adventure“!happy

    • i use to in the younger days of my marriage.  we would open the road directory point in a direction and head out that way.  very random, alot of fun, we would try and spend as little as possible.  $30 our max amount and no more
