    • I went to the Senior Prom with my brother’s friend who was like 12 years older than me.  I couldn’t find a date.  I went to an all girl high school and you had to have a date to go to prom.  I did ask a guy to prom but he had already been asked by someone else.

It was okay.  I hung out with my friend who was a junior and her date but then they left early.  We left shortly after that and he took me home.

I had a better prom experience the following year when I went to my boyfriend’s prom.  I had lots of fun there.

    • The only time I went to prom was with a friend of mine who couldn’t find a date. He had asked all the popular girls and of course was turned down. I told him he needed to lower his standards and he said, “I know, that’s why I’m asking you to go with me!” Didn’t quite know how to take that one. But we were buddies and he was a senior so this was his last chance to go to prom. It was fun.

    • Junior prom I had a baby blue satin dress with a sweetheart neckline that looked just divine on me.  I asked a guy who was a freshman.  He was cute and TALL.  His mom wouldn’t let him go to prom so I ended up going with my best guy friend who went to a different school.

I had a sprained ankle, but I was determined to wear my heels and so I gritted my teeth and hung on Lonnie’s arm for dear life all around grand march.

My best friend couldn’t find a date, so we sort of shared one. After the dance we went to the dusk to dawn movie at the drive in theater of course.

LOL!  Here’s photos I scanned awhile back to share with my still best friends.

    • You look so pretty, T!

If I can think back that far, lol..I went to three proms total.  My junior prom with my boyfriend at the time.  We wore matching tuxedos, which were quite nice.  That was the “in” thing at our school.  I went to an all girl school, but we were very liberated..lol.  The second prom in my junior year was a different boyfriend, yeah, boys were a dime a dozen..lol..it was his prom and I wore a beautiful tunic outfit, cream colored with matching long palazzo style silk pants.

In my senior year, I went with yet another guy, and my dress was gorgeous.  A long black, fitted, dress with lace across the collar bone area, it was quite stunning.  I was a clothes hound back then!tongue out

I had fun at all three proms, it was the disco era!estatic

    • Aw Denise, that’s a bummer!

Mary, I remember one of the senior girls at our junior prom wore palazzo pants.  I believe she was in white with a bright red sash, stunning!

    • Where I went to school, they did not host a prom. I got into some trouble in 9th grade so my parents enrolled me into this new Christian private school for my last 3 years of high school. We also only had 2 graduates the year I graduated and we both just passed on having a graduation ceremony. Why bother for just 2.....

    • The palazzo pants were such a big thing back then, remember the gaucho style pants too?  All that is coming back into style.

Only two graduates, that must have been a little sad for you, Diane..did your parents throw you a grad party or something?
