    • This is sonething we want to do once Joe retires. We like to hike so we plan to go on some trips with a focus on our National Parks. We’ll pick an area, travel and go on day hikes in several places on one vacation.

When I lived in Washington I used to hike Hurricane Ridge. I also liked to go to Crescent lake and hike around over there and up to the falls. Living in Hawaii we go up to Haleakala quite a bit since it’s close to our house. They have an 11 mile hike down into the valley and then up through the switchbacks. That takes about 6 hours and we try and do that hike every year at least once.

    • I certainly would, as a matter of fact Bob and I were just talking about that the other day.  As long as I do all the planning, he is up for it.  We are hoping to start with New England, then travel out West in the years to come.  We hope to combine the hummingbird flight pattern into this as that is located in Arizona.  It really sounds exciting!

    • Ok so I’m reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed and its about hiking the Pacific Crest Trail...... I’m pretty sure I couldn’t do what she did but I would do day hikes that involve a real bed, bathroom facilities and a roof over my head.

    • Yes.  I’ve been to lots of National Parks.  We just visited Yosemite this month.  Have been to the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Yellowstone, Smokey Mountains, Big Bend, and I forget the one in Colorado.  I was fortunate because my parents took to to quite a few.
