Q & A

Do you “feel like your age“? I’m 58 and don’t feel that age.  I feel quite alive, vibrant and feel there is so much more I have to do and give to others.  I enjoy life!

    • thats wonderful to hear.  i am 49 and i cant honestly say i know what it means to feel my age.  i cant honestly say what it is to feel all the ages i have been.  some days i am happy other days i am not.  i sing, am stupid at times laugh, cry and scream.  i guess there are milestones in peoples lives so i can say i do not have a house, own a car or work.  so my material worth is small.  i love my kids, sitting out in the sun and the wind in my face when i walk the dogs.  there will come a day when my teenager children will be living independently from me.  and lastly i cant start the day without a coffee and sugar boost.estaticestatic

    • It depends on when you ask me that question.  Right now, I’ve just gotten off work and worked an extra day this week.  Yep, I feel every one of my 45 years and then some.

Do I think of myself as being that old? Heck no.

    • I don’t feel my age and many say I look younger than 50+. Working with young children makes me act like a kid sometimes.

Today my daughter drove me to a town we’ve never been to. We strolled the shopping district and it was so fun. Later in our town we went to the farmer’s market. One of my students ran towards me calling out my name and gave me a big hug. It was a great day hanging out with my daughter and later seeing one of my many “children.”

    • I am 41 and I don’t feel 41 at all.  A lot of my coworkers can’t believe that I’m in my 40s.  I was just telling my husband this evening that I feel very good lately and I really think it’s because I’ve been exercising 3 times a week which is more than I used to do in the past.  I think that really helps with mood, sleep, and everything.

    • Butterflyrose, first of all, I would have never guessed you were 58. When I read your posts you‘re so full of life and energy I would think you are much much younger!

I’m 51 and sometimes I feel my age and sometimes I don’t. For me it depends on my stress level and the amount of sleep I get. Right now I’m fighting a virus and have been going to the doctor to get to the bottom of it before I start nursing school. I feel my age right now for sure.

In 2 weeks we’ll be on a cruise to Alaska. I bet during that week I’ll feel, oh maybe 40!estatic

    • I’m 47 and feel older lately. Before I injured my ankle and had surgery I felt pretty good, now with the pain and stiffness, I don’t feel great ever.

    • Hi Butterfly,

I have another answer to your question. Truly, I don’t ‘feel my age‘, but when you‘re around teachers who are in their 20-30’s, my AGE bums me out especially realizing that I’m double their age and could be their mom.

When a student asks me if I’m a grandma or look like one, I start to feel my age or older. I get over it because in my mind I’m still in my 30’s.
