    • I make sure I’m home and all my doors are shut. I don’t want Murphy to run away in fear of the fireworks. I know animals tend to bolt with the noise. I try to comfort him but he paces around the house and runs from place to place with each “boom”

    • i usually bring them inside try and keep the house quiet.  i give them treats, talk to them calm and reassuringly and play a game to distract them.  if my pets do run around frantically i will put them on a lead or put them in one of my childrens room and ask them to watch our pet closely

    • We usually all gather together in front of the TV and I distract them by playing with them

    • Our poor dog Brandy, when she was still alive, would have panic attacks, so our Steve (as little as he was) would bring her into his room, get her dog bed with her blankets, toys and her buddy, Whiskers (our cat) and put them both to sleep in the dog bed.  He was like a little daddy to them!heart
