What do you think of unexpected visits by family or friends?
If they can handle my dirty house, the more the merrier! Come on over. If I’m going somewhere, come along with me.
Tulip
when i have alot of housework i usually get my husband to be with the visitors for 5 minutes while i clear the hoover away and tidy the chairs. if i am going to a docs appointment i say stay i will be back.
I am like Mavikaya, my door is always open...have always been like that.
I really don’t get unexpected visitors because I live too far lol, they call first.
"As you open the door to new relationships and remove the chain from your own fears, God will overwhelm you with new splendor."
I love a house full of people, but those that know me well will never show up unannounced
and neither will I
EVER.....
If a friend or family member are in the area and just want to come over then they should pull out their cell phone and call. I mean it’s only the curtious thing to do. So I say ‘yeh come on over’ but give me a call frost.
Sometimes it’s inconvenient for friends and family to just drop in. I would prefer a heads up. My mom stopped by for coffee on a week day morning, which I love. The problem was that I was getting ready for work and we didn’t have time to chat.
I was raised in a big family, and my parents always told people “we’ll find a nail to hang you on somewhere!!!” So, I too have adopted that mentality... It can be stressful, like when you are getting ready for a graduation party, and the day or two before people want to stop by and gab/hang all nite long...lol My husband gets more stressed than I do, or maybe I just try not to show it in trying to stay kind and courteous... I mean, if Jesus came to my door and knocked, would I be stressed or throw the door wide open??? I hope the latter of the two! My door is always wide open...
