What are your favorite food at the fair? Elephant ear, funnel cake, scone, strawberry shortcake, etc.
Funnel cake!!! Oh they smell so good, and watching them being made just makes my day. And then to bite into all the crunchy greasy goodness. Mmmmmmmm!

Funnel cake. What is an elephant ear? I’ve never heard of those before.

Elephant ears are a deep fried pastry. It’s made w/ dough that’s thinly rolled and shaped into a huge circle resembling an elephant ear. After it’s deep fried it’s either sprinkled w/ cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. Some vendors may offer a fruit and whipped cream topping. It’s yummy like the funnel cake.
Diane, the elephant ears I’ve made at the restaurant are simply a flour tortilla that is deep fried and then dredged in cinnamon sugar. And they are yummy, but funnel cake holds first place in my heart.
